Hotel Atolon & Kaafu Beach Club

Great location, attentive and helpful staff all around hotel, great selection and variable food selection my only gripe was the hot buffet food was cold most nights , with no microwave on display at evening meal,, only at breakfast,, which to me needs to be addressed, The chefs show cooking was delicious, Pool are was immaculate, with stunning views

Booked Hotel as it looked great on the Brochure.
Arrived to find the Hotel had only 10 rooms and a second complex across the road from the actual Hotel.
Sea views were from the hotel but you have to pay 64e per night extra for these rooms.
Standard room was across the street in another complex.
Our room was tiny but clean.
Small bed, no ironing or tea or coffee making facilities.
Small Fridge.
Small balcony over looking the street which was noisy at night.
Room had aircon and was cleaned daily.
Pool area was lovely but pool is 15mtrs but looks much bigger on the brochure.
NO ENTERTAINMENT!!!!
Big damper for us as we had to source night time entertainment in Cala Bona and Cala Milor.
Cala Bona was at least a 20 min walk from the hotel but the entertainment in the Cala Bona and surrounding hotels was Fabulous.
Breakfast was luke warm at best with 2 x coffee machines with a queue every morning for coffee as machines were very slow.
We ended up eating breakfast at Stanleys Restaurant across the road from the hotel which was gorgeous.
Hotel is about center between Cala Bona and Cala Milor so is in a great location.
Hotel claim they do not advertise entertainment and the sea views cost are transparent?
We checked our booking with Love Holidays to find the Hotel does advertise Entertainment and no mention of 64e per night extra for a sea view and no mention of the standard rooms being across the road in another complex?
Best to contact the hotel and get all this confirmed before you book.
All in all,
Lovely Hotel in ideal situ but a bit a bit disappointed with the 64e extra per night and the lack of nightly Entertainment.
There are beautiful hotels all around Cala Bona etc and worth taking the time to check out and compare prices etc

Booked the hotel for the location and the fact the food looked great( don't normally eat dinner inhouse). Big mistake. First night arrived late so barely ate much, breakfast adequate on the sun morning. Sunday night got in restaurant 10 mins after opening. All plated "hot " food cold ,goodness knows how long been left out, veg almost raw, Tried several dishes. Queue for chef cooking too long to bother with. Tried several starters and couple of desserts. Unimpressed. Approx 4 hours later the stomach etc problems kicked in, worst case of food poisoning ever experienced in my life! Not eaten outside hotel all day and only drank bottled water. Rang reception mon morning ( no instruction on internal phone to access so used mobile) as solo and was concerned. Receptionist came up, said noone else affected, was a viral infection ( it wasnt), never heard from reception again so could have been unconscious in room for all they knew!! Was in bed virtually from the sun night til checkout on the wed. Looking back through reviews there is definitely something not right with the food, someone mentioned a possible hygiene issue. Maybe people just think it's a 'Spanish tummy ' general thing they've got...Luckily beds comfortable and clean, strong shower. Walls thin as could hear person next door zipping their case up so they must have heard me in bathroom... 😞 sorry...

Hotel Atolon is our favorite hotel on the island, we love it and strongly recommend it!
The food is amazing and the pool has a has a view that leaves you speechless.
Special mention to the staff who are super friendly and polite.

On the whole good,but single beds on wheels not so good.breakfast a bit chaotic at times.the pool was icy cold and not very inviting,the staff were very helpful.

I have been to Hotel Atolon many times over the last 10 years, so that in itself tells you what I think of it. It is ideally placed between Cala Bona Harbour and Calla Millor. The rooms are comfortable and maid service is excellent, as is the food, multiple choice at breakfast and dinner. I don't think any other Hotel has staff as good as Atolon, each one is friendly and courteous. As soon as you arrive at Reception, you are looked after. Perfect in every way.

Was a beautiful hotel

We stayed at Hotel Atolon for 3 nights for a family wedding we were attending nearby. The reception staff on arrival were friendly, welcoming and very efficient. We were in our room less than 10 minutes after we arrived. What a room!! I had upgraded to a sea view room which meant we were in the main building directly behind the sea. The view was incredible!! The room itself spotlessly clean and had everything you could need, including a kettle and full size hairdryer. The Hotel faces east across the Mediterranean so the sunrise each morning was spectacular. You could see Minorca on a clear day! Breakfast was another treat, a chef constantly cooking fresh eggs and bacon along with omelettes to order. Every kind of bread, pastry, cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc….. certainly set us up for the day. I would absolutely choose this hotel again should I be fortunate enough to return to Mallorca. Oh, also, there is a modest gym but unfortunately no AC which did make it a bit stuffy. The location is the best in the resort bar none! If you walk right out of the hotel you’ll find more anglicised bars, pubs and eventually the harbour. If you turn left there is a fantastic promenade all the way through Cala Millor with a more relaxed vibe. If you’re really wanting a good walk there is a Castle up on the hill through Cala Millor, accessed via a path along the back of the rocks, looking across towards Minorca, the views are stunning. There are feral cats, chickens and a horse riding school up there, as well as a cafe for refreshments. All in all we had a great experience!

My wife and I booked a sea view room which didn’t disappoint, loved listening to the waves while drifting off to sleep in comfy beds. Room basic but spotlessly clean, rooms were cleaned everyday. Plenty of sun beds available and a poolside bar available all day. All staff without exception were friendly and always on hand. Food was of a good standard plenty of variety, something for everyone. Bonus at breakfast as they served English sausages. Location of hotel is perfect for exploring Cala Bona and Cala Millor. Amazing stay and already considering booking again for next September.

Leider waren die Zimmer sehr sehr klein und dicht nebeneinander somit konnten wir wirklich alles hören. Aber ansonsten war alles sehr zufriedenstellend

This has to be the best located hotel in Cala Bona. Beautiful sea views and just a few minutes walk to Cala Bona beach and harbour. Easy walk along the promenade to Cala Millor.
Rooms are minimalist in design, compact but comfortable, with a kettle, fridge and safe. Bathrooms have a walk in shower, hairdryer and toiletries. Everything is very clean.
What makes this lovely hotel a bit different is the quality of the food and service. At breakfast, everything you could possibly want is provided, with pancakes, omelettes, eggs and bacon all freshly cooked to order. Similarly, at dinner, your entire main course can be cooked to your liking by the chef. This makes a change from the normal buffet food offering, whilst still giving plenty of choice. The food is delicious and fresh. Restaurant staff are helpful and efficient.
The hotel’s beach club is very chilled, seating is comfortable and it’s possible to hire a Balinese bed. For hotel guests, there are of course plenty of sun beds around the pool.
There is no beach directly in front of the hotel, but there are steps down to the sea and you can hire a paddle board from reception.
I recommend trying the hotel’s Kaafu restaurant for lunch. Staff are attentive and friendly. There are plenty of tasty options on the menu if you want a snack or a full meal. Service at Kaafu is very good. In the evening, it’s lovely to sit outside with a cocktail listening to a DJ set, singer or sax player.
The hotel have tried and succeeded in providing something a bit different to the other large 4 star hotels in the area in terms of food, service and vibe.
The hotel is ideal for adult guests of all ages who want a relaxing holiday. Although children are made welcome, there are no facilities apart from the pool.

Our second visit to this hotel. Hotel and rooms are extremely clean, bright and airy, although the rooms are a bit sparse and bathroom was not very big. The view from our room was wonderful. It was so disappointing that the food was rarely hot and as the plates where cold then the food was soon stone cold. The Kaafu Beach Club is very trendy, however when loud base music is played all day long and until approx 10.30pm it becomes annoying. I am unsure what type and she group they are trying to attract as Cala Bona is mainly a resort of elderly and couples. Sorry but we will not be staying at the Atalon again. Very disappointed as we have been very happy going to Cala Bona for years.

Fantastic hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is situated on the edge of Cala Bona, turn right out of the hotel reception and its a 10 minute walk to the harbour, turn left and it’s roughly a 20 minute walk to Cala Millor. It’s a lovely small hotel with friendly staff and a beautiful setting overlooking the sea. There was never a problem getting a sunbed and you can get towels from reception for a 10 euro deposit that can be changed every two days. The rooms were super clean with a selection of great toiletries (all Dove products), towels were changed every day. We stayed half board and can recommend the food in the restaurant, there was a great selection for breakfast. For the evening meal there was always a choice of at least two fish dishes, two meat dishes and one vegetarian plus either a pasta dish or a stir fry and plenty of other choices. Some of the dishes were cooked as you ordered at the grill but there was never a big wait, the dishes were displayed on plates in the front of the grill. Other available dishes were pre prepared and available on the hot plate. There was also a great selection of deserts on offer. There was a small bar in the reception area (not much seating available) but it didn’t seem to be used much. There were plenty of bars and restaurants outside of the hotel which were very close and stretched all along the promenade to the harbour. Would I return to this hotel? Definitely!

We really enjoyed our week at the Atolon. The food was lovely and fresh, and the chef was very helpful in providing us with some vegetarian options. The hotel staff are very attentive too, and we enjoyed chatting with Fernanda, the pool lifeguard.

Atolon is in a great location facing the sea and ideal for walking to Cala Bona marine or the other direction towards Cala Millor.

We'll definitely be back for another stay!

The hotel is very clean and staff are great. Love the pool area and you are always able to get a sunbed. It's also nice to be able to sit and have a cocktail in the beach club.

Great location, good food and friendly staff. The room was compact but clean and bright. Location was good for cafes, bars, etc.

Tolle Lage, toller Pool. Wird jeden Tag morgens und abends extrem gereinigt. Lage der Zimmer mit Meerblick ein Traum. Negative Merkmale nur, kein richtiger Kleiderschrank, die Musik an der Poolbar war abends viel zu laut und nur HippHopp, House und so neumodernes Zeug. Auch war beim Abendessen die Klimaanlage viel zu kalt gestellt

This is a great hotel. Fab location. Staff are friendly . Pool area always get a lounger . Great beach club attached . We were half board and food is amazing . Cooked fresh ever night . Buffet for starter/ dessert. The stir fry is to die for. Breakfast had everything you need so much choice . I gave it a 4 aa the room we had not sure if they are all the same but hardly any storage . But not really a big issue . If I was going back we will . I would try get a room even with partial sea view. We had a ground floor this time.
