I wish I could write a review that was able to express how much I love this understated, welcoming gem that sits amidst a city full of overhyped chain "resorts" that wouldn't remember you if you stayed there for a year straight. This place is EXACTLY what I look for when I am booking a room. I am a business owner/operator that travels pretty extensively for work. In fact, travel is such a regular thing for me and my family (which for me, includes my small and talented group of employees along with my spouse and child) that we spend the vast majority of our downtime in hotels, because paying for a place we never visit is just not very intelligent in my eyes, especially when it will never be "home". So the genuine comfort and relaxation that I enjoy when I find a place like Oceans 2700 is hard for me to describe. Virginia Beach is the city my business is most connected to, and the place that I spend the most time at when not on the road touring. This last few months I have been making the rounds in various area hotels, because we have had a good focus of work here, and this hotel is where I feel the most at home, relaxed and at ease, and the place that I am greeted with a smile and a genuine interest in how I have been, because I am ALWAYS remembered here, always treated like I was missed while I was elsewhere working. The rooms are exactly what this property portrays them to be. They're clean, they have the necessary amenities for me and my little circle to be able to kick our feet up and rest, and the staff, especially the wonderful young woman that works her tail off day in and day out, are beyond any expectation I could have for a small, affordable, independent property. I have one of the most HECTIC schedules you could imagine, and most times, its late - VERY late - when I get to a property to check in. This is the ONLY place that I have not had a single issue when I show up at 2am nearly unintelligible from exhaustion, needing to check in, or get a new key because I lost mine, yet again, not just here in VA Beach, but in any city really. The personal considerations they give naturally to their guests is unreal because so many places do not see the person, just the booking number and dollar amount. If you want a different vibe, one that makes you feel welcome and valued, this is my ONLY recommendation. I will book this place over, and over, and over, and do so knowing I will have 0 complaints every last time. Don't sleep on this place. Sleep at it I stead. You'll be glad you did, and you might just find that you don't even want to leave when the time comes. But hey, why take my word for it when you can find out yourself for an unbelievably low cost. ;-)

It was clean

Nothing! I was placed in 4 different rooms in 15 minutes. All the rooms were covered in vomit, mold in the fridges and dirt an dust all over the place as if they only made the beds. The receptionist at the time was "helpful" and explained how other people didn't do their jobs as if it wasn't hers job to double check to make sure the room was ready for a new guest. She stated that she would issue a refund immediately.

I’ve never been so disappointed and disgusted by a hotel in my life. The room was crawling with cockroaches, which immediately made me question how this place is even allowed to operate. On top of that, there was a horrible smell in the room a mix of mold, sewage, and something rotten. It was unbearable!

No guest should have to deal with such filthy and unhygienic conditions. I couldn’t even relax or sleep properly because of how dirty everything felt. Management clearly doesn’t care about cleanliness or customer experience.
