Hotel Wittelsbach Oberammergau

Very nice place to stay in great location. Bakeries, restaurants and shopping are within steps of the hotel. My one wish was that the lobby coffee machine was turned on in the morning instead of unsuccessfully trying to make us buy their buffet breakfast.

The hotel located in the pictures small village. Everything was very close. We had astonishing mountains view from our balcony. Breakfast Buffet was one of the best. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Linden palace is only 15 minutes away from the village. This village has amazing swimming pools with the Alps view. Self served coffee in the morning was really good. We would like to thank hotel owners and the staff for the great job.

The staff was friendly. The room was large and very comfortable and super clean. There were plenty of outlets available for charging. Breakfast is buffet and they have everything you can think of to eat. It is located in the heart of downtown so lots of shopping and places to eat. Not to mention the beautiful view of the Alps we had from our room.

Nette kamer en badkamer. Lekker centraal in het centrum. Bediening erg vriendelijk. Ontbijt buffet was goed verzorgt. Jammer dat de kamer geen airconditioning had.

First time at this hotel. Loved everything but the hotel is showing it’s age. Seemed appreciate for the ambiance and location. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed one night on a road trip through Belgium and Germany. Nice hotel ideally located with limited parking right at the side of the hotel and a large public car park very close by. Plenty of room on the pavement outside to unload luggage before parking. Room spotlessly clean and everything you need. As is the case in most hotels in Germany the pillows are less than supportive but there were extra ones that helped. Continental breakfast was fine with a good selection. Staff were lovely and helpful. Would stay here again.

I stayed here for two weeks. The room was spacious, well maintained and clean, and the breakfast was really good and always fresh. All staff (concierges and waitresses) was friendly and polite. The hotel is in downtown. Good experience.

This is a very homey and clean hotel right in the center of town. The room was large and the beds comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was very fair and included a delectable breakfast that was slightly limited in its selection. We will surely return. Travelers need to check in with the hotel about when it’s closed and when there are holy days and parades that might interfere with activities.

This is a perfectly located hotel in Oberammergau. It is charming and the rooms are quaint with plaid drapes, wood ceiling and little wooden beds. However they are quite uncomfortable with very awkward pillows.

Nice hotel that catered mostly to large groups while we were there for the Passion Play. I sort of got interrogated each morning at breakfast as to what “group” I was in, but nevertheless, as soon as they knew that we don’t travel in “groups,” it was a very enjoyable breakfast. The hotel is centrally located in the village, and just a short walk to the amphitheater for the play. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to stay away from the village and have to take a shuttle bus back and forth to the play. Highly recommended!

Came to Oberammergau for the Passion Play. Stayed two nights. Hotel is very clean and a 5 minute walk to the Play, Staff was very friendly, room was dated but very clean. Beds were comfy though pillows could have been better. Bathroom was small. Room was a bit stuffy with no A/C. Used the hotel washer and dryer which was great to have and 5 euro each. Lovely town even if you don't come for the Passion play. Would stay here again.

In town for 2 night for the Passion Play, was a great location only a 250m (5min) walk the the play, was so nice to get out of the play at 9.45pm and just walk 5mins then into bed rather than have to catch a bus to another town, etc like so many others. Breakfast was adequate but no bread or toaster which I found strange. Rooms were very large, we had 104, no street noise whatsoever and looking at the fountain and hills. New bathrooms too. Wifi was great, pillows were a little on the thin side so definitely needed two each but we only had 3 for the room. Staff friendly and helpful

Hotel Wittlesbach was better than we anticipated. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and cute. The hotel is located in a prime location for visiting Oberammergau. All members of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Email exchanges were answered promptly, often within 6 hours. The breakfast was delicious and ample. They automatically got us accommodation for dinner at an adjacent hotel due to understaffing for their dining room. The whole atmosphere-hotel and staff- were wonderful!!!

Great hotel with very friendly and Service-minded staff. Our room was on first floor almost adjacent to the breakfast room.

I cannot say enough about what a beautiful hotel this is and how unbelievably kind and helpful the staff was. The owners are onsite and treat everyone like family. The hotel is impeccably clean with all modern amenities. It is located in the center of town with everything just a short walk away, including the Passionplay Theater. The breakfast was plentiful and outstanding. I travel for a living and can easily give this hotel my highest recommendation.
