The Black Bull Hotel

The Hotel is obviously in new hands the room was fresh.
Ate in there the first night , then cancelled breakfast for the rest of the stay as the standard of food was poor mainly deep fried.

Food was great , room was large and our family loved the fact that as soon as we arrived the staff were more than helpful getting all our wedding stuff out of the cars and into the room

The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard but there appears to be little attention paid to standards of customer service. A number of items were not available on the food menu although food served was good pub standard .Requests for items for the room were not met by housekeeping staff until further requests made. Room including bed not re-made during 3 night stay. This may be acceptable on New Years Day but not on next day. When bookings are taken for the festive period guests should expect that hotel would be staffed and services available to cover their stay. Clean towels were provided when requested. Some staff were very helpful and efficient but others do not appear to give the hotel much of a priority. Could be it was a bad time of year to visit but the festive period is surely important to the hospitality trade.

Hotels.com showed a 14.00 check in but it was only from 15.00. We waited in the bar and eventually we were taken up. The room had been ready from 12.00 so completely unnecessary to have kept us waiting. The room was clean and functional but will be staying elsewhere on our next stopover in Moffat

Nice pub and friendly staff, but the room was tiny. Would have been okay for one person but far too cramped for two people.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at the black bull, the family room was perfect for us and the service and warm welcome was fantastic.

Our room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was really good, especially the porridge and omelettes. We know that when you stay in a pub it can be noisier than a hotel or B&B but it would have been good to have been warned at check in that there would be a live band playing until 12.30am in the bar which was immediately beneath our room. It wasn’t mentioned at all, and yet it apparently happens every Friday. Be prepared if you book for a Friday night that you won’t get much sleep as the amplified music and the crowd joining in with the singing will keep you awake until the early hours

OMG Amazing! Wish we had booked longer. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. Room was just beautiful. Amazing food. Perfect spot and so comfortable. Can't wait to go back. VERY HAPPY. Moffat is just beautiful also.

This was a lovely stay and staff were friendly. Has a nice and relaxing bar area which was full of lovely people. The room was average but booked room for a king bed and ended up with a room that had two single beds put together which was disappointing.

It was a really nice room (a little small) but very well presented and would stay again. There was just a minor fault the door handle to the bathroom was broken.

Lovely place , loved the decor ,the ambiance and food.
Room was clean lovely done out , had everything we needed.
Best to book breakfast and evening meal if needed.
Both were really nice.
Moffat is a beautiful town , very relaxed walk about.x

Fantastic stay in a fantastic place. The room was clean, the food was fantastic, fully recommend the sticky (Moffat) toffee pudding best I have ever tasted!!!
There is a nice gin bar next door and Moffat offers plenty for a short stay

Fine place to stay. Small room yet comfortable. Friendly helpful staff who were great in spite of being very busy.

Nice old building but with modern facilities. Live music on the night of our stay which was very good.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights on our way to Glasgow to see Glasgow Rangers as the trains were not running. Really enjoyed the stay, the hotel and location are excellent. We will definitely be staying again
