Everything. Fantastic hosts.
The breakfast choice and quality was exceptional in the conservatory.
Evening meal available Mon-Thurs was lovely. We enjoyed the individual garden areas, perfect for reading and chilling after a day's walking- with amazing views .Well stocked bar area with dart board -a great addition.
8 hours sleep each night, a combination of a comfy bed and clean air.

The grounds of this hotel were amazing, it was set in a beautiful garden, well tended by the owners and created a wonderful first impression. Inside, the decor was of an old-fashioned, country house style - which may not be to everyone's taste but was in keeping with the property's general demeanour. There were pleasant mountain views from our bedroom window. We selected this hotel to avoid staying in the village pubs, with all the noise that goes with that. Sygun Fawr Country House didn't disappoint in this respect, it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The gardens were a bird-watcher's paradise, with several feeding stations dotted around; we would have loved to have sat in the gardens for an hour to just watch and photograph them, had our itinerary allowed it.
Although nothing really wrong with the room, I didn't feel it quite matched up to the photos on Booking.com, as these seemed to portray a more luxurious feel than I experienced seeing the room for real.
Breakfast was a real annoyance; as is often the case in B&Bs, you had to pre-order breakfast the night before. But whereas most establishments typically want just your cooked breakfast pre-order, perhaps tea or coffee as well, Sygun Fawr Country House wanted you to nail down everything, e.g., cereals, fruit juices, yogurt and fruit, including the contents of your fresh-fruit plate - instead of simply providing a selection of fruits or a prepared fruit salad. This was then brought to the table uncut, so melon slices had to be chopped up with a teaspoon or knife and fork. Then to cap it all, you were only a few mouthfuls into your fruit or cereal, when your cooked breakfast would arrive! This happened both days of our stay, so not likely a fluke off-day. I got the distinct impression the breakfast experience was run for the convenience of the kitchen staff rather than for the benefit of the guests.
Another slight disappointment... I had seen from the FAQs that there was a restaurant on site. Maybe I didn't research thoroughly enough, but on arrival we discovered this only serves dinner on weekdays. Although we hadn't decided for certain that we would eat at the hotel for our Saturday/Sunday night stay, it would have been nice to have this as an option. Eating in the village can get very busy and quickly booked up in peak season.

The hotel was situated in a idyllic location. Such a peaceful, relaxing stay. We have been fortunate enough to stay in many places over the years but Sygun Fawr was the most relaxing place we’ve ever experienced.
Jane, Jay and the team were so welcoming and, boy, can Jay cook!

Sehr nette Gastgeber, super Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in die Berge als auch an die Küste (30 Fahrminuten), schöner Garten, viel kleine gemütliche Sitzmöglichkeiten drinnen und draußen. Köstliches Frühstück ( Waffeln!). Gute Restaurants im Ort (15 Minuten zu Fuß). Gut sortierte selfservice Bar!
Wasser lief nur sehr langsam ab. Schade, dass man nicht an allen Tagen abends in der Unterkunft essen kann. Man muss das köstliche Frühstück im Detail am Abend vorher bestellen. Erscheint etwas kompliziert, danach wird jedoch auf alles eingegangen.

Great location, giving easy access to the local town and many local attractions. Very good breakfast options - everything prepared to order. Jane and staff super friendly and responsive.
Access to the property via car is not for the faint hearted! Access road is super narrow, to the point of making it very difficult to pass a few people with a bicycle when we first arrived!
Also, with all breakfast items prepared freshly, be prepared for a wait.

Our stay was fantastic and Sarah, Jay & all the staff were very welcoming & friendly. Breakfast every morning was delicious & a great start to the day! Perfect location - short walking distance to the village but in a beautiful quiet setting.
