The Chilli by Golden Ray

The hotel is a bit rundown and the elevator up to the top floor could use an update but the room was ok, over expectation, decent AC and comfortable bed. Limited cleaning but good location.

The staff at the reception made a normal check in but the facility I was given was a disaster.

1. The staff from the reception followed with me to a construction that they call "elevator". It was space for one person and a suitcase. I was given instructions about how to stand inside the above mentioned construction for not disturbing its function. I should stand right very close to the right wall and not move. I followed the instructions but the construcion (fake elevator) stopped between floor 1 and floor 2. I pushed desperately the button for floor 2 and after several stops I came to Floor 2 (my floor).
I noticed that nobody uses that construction as an elevator. I was told that in reality it is not an elevetar for guests, It was an arrangement for lifting construction material and in order to get a better score fore the facility that is called and rented as a "hotel" it was named "elevator". I dout that that construction meets any requirement for being used as an elevator for people- The last 2 days it was not in use, an indicator showed "Maintenance".

2. a) When I entered the room I felt a strong mold smell. Entering the bathroom I understood why. The lower part of the bathroom door and the adjacent walls were covered by thick and bad smelling layers of mold. I showed it for the receptionist lady and she took some pictures.
b) The water flushing arrangement did not work.etc. etc.
Score fot the facility: 0 (ZERO)

Séjour de dernière minute à un prix exorbitant versus la qualité de la prestation mais Phuket en général est devenu ultra cher et décevant par sa fréquentation de fumeurs de joint de banlieue!! Hôtel passable mais choisi par défaut! Ascenseur sans porte de sécurité…

My room was full of mould and smelled a lot. There was water leaking in the bathroom and also outside the window where power lines where almost sitting in water from air conditioners. I also got very sick from the air and now have a virus in my lungs

Very bad hotel

Aircon doesn’t works, toilet blocked. The owner doesn’t want to change my room and I had to use the toilet at the restaurant down the street. Dodgy Pakistani owner. Rude owner. Never coming back here. Did not refund my money. A complete Rip off

Pictures look much better than in real life. A lot of noise at night due to metal sheets flapping and fluttering in the wind, cat’s mewing and arguments on the street. But very friendly and helpsome staff and you get what you pay for (budget room).

Well they say you get what you pay for and in this case I overpaid. Watch out for the elevator and all the hidden fees they might try to make you pay. Was definitely an experience but it’s doable if you just need a place to sleep but kinda takes away from the vacation having to deal with it.

Horrible place to stay in, check out the mold in the bathroom and how the fridge looks, they didn’t move me to another room because it was sold out.
Do not even consider staying there.

Det første værelse vi fik var beskidt, ødelagt og meget støj fra elevatoren, som vi i øvrigt ikke turde benytte pga. standen. Det nye værelse vi fik var var ganske vist blevet gjort rent, men stadig slidt gammelt hotel og der var mange myrer og andre kryb på hotelværelse. Vi kommer aldrig igen.

If all you want is a bed and shower it’s ok but don’t expect a hot shower there’s no hot water

It is a very nice stay at this property. A good location as it is accessable to all your needs. The room has a nice setup and amenities as expected. Services are all superb with very attentive and warm service from all. I can say that this hotel has the best quality for such a minimal cost that I have come across. A wonderful experience indeed and I highly recommend friends to come.

Room 401 air conditioner is broke. Spits out ice and doesn’t cool the room. If on too long like over night when you are trying to sleep, makes horrible noise

Stay somewhere else if you can there's hundreds of hotels in the Phuket area. It's old and rundown. The bed was hard as a rock and it's a very noisy party Hotel. Unless you want to party all night and sleep all day. Wish I had some photos.

Terrible. Paid for 9 nights, left after 2 nights. Hostel quality advertised as 4 star. NEVER AGAIN. Seriously, do not waste your money. No refunds so lost a good chunk of change walking away from a 9 night booking after 2 nights then having to pay for anothee hotel. English breakfast?? What a joke! Whole place is a joke. Pool is a plunge pool, not big enough to splash around and if there were 5 people in there it'd be crowded. Worst place ever. Location is only positive about this place, but I wouldn't book based on the location. So many better places around.

Staff were really friendly. Excellent for budget accommodation. Clean and tidy. Toiet blocked and was moved ASAP to a bigger room.

Ants in the bed, shower drain blocked so bathroom turned into a small pool, staff were just so rude and couldn’t care.
I couldn’t even book a mini bus from the girls at front desk. I actually went back to my previous hotel ( Yorkshire) where they were wonderful & helped me.
This place is a run down dump and I would not stay here.
