Concierge team was welcoming and helpful. The hotel is located in the lush green, quiet and serene Houghton Estates Neighbourhood.
The rooms are spacious. Only addition necessary at least for my room would be a bedroom workstation. The one by the outside section in my room was fine but meant i had to ensure i carried a power pack and also not quiet ideal as it also then rained in the evening and morning and exposes one to weather elements.
Adequately stocked mini bar and whiskey decanter available with ice in the room. Beautiful views outside and gymnasium and spas to take care of fitness and relaxation needs.
Great food choice overall. Enjoyed chicken makhaya while my colleagues had salmon and Ostrich nicely done accompanied by white wine from a wide selection.
The only downside on bar side was absence of my preferred beer but barman still availed a decent alternative.
Rosebank Mall under 3km by Uber or Hotel shuttle if in need.
Houghton Golf Course close by
All in all i got value for my money and would still want to go there when in JHB.
Rooms were clean and comfortable
For a Joburg place this hotel offers privacy and safety. The room was very spacious, service was top notch and we enjoy the breakfast everyday. The Spa was also good. The decor is interesting and it manages to hold its authenticity. Dinner was worth it. A great stay.
Arrived at the hotel early morning after a long trip from Austin, TX and were pleasantly surprised that the hotel had a room ready for us and we were offered a wonderful breakfast with both made to order and buffet options, mimosas and coffee. Wonderful way to start our trip.
The room was huge, well appointed, and very comfortable with a beautiful deck overlooking the garden. The hotel was quiet, beautiful, and very clean.
Drinks in the piano bar were great and the dinner was amazing. I had a carpaccio trio of warthog, ostrich, and springbok that was stellar with the warthog exceeding expectations.
The service was outstanding, location perfect for the start of our trip, and all of the staff were very kind, helpful, and a pleasure.
A lovely hotel, and welcoming and helpful staff. Our room was spacious and nicely-designed with our own indoor and outdoor shower, and a soothing spa-like feel. Dinners and breakfasts at the restaurant were excellent and a personal tour around town was everything we’d hoped for. It’s a wonderful oasis in the city.
Overnight stay between the Blue Train and an up country safari. Comfortable rooms with a pleasant garden view. Steak for dinner was a joy and the breakfast before heading to the airport was delicious. Very good staff.

The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was warm & friendly. Since it is made up of several connected residences, the hallways/walkways could be quite cold in the winter, but the hot water in the bed helped (and the temperature in the rooms was fine).
It was an amazing experience at the residence. We would recommend it as a five star hotel, and would go back again. We hope to go back again. The staff were so friendly. The food was excellent, and our accommodations were just beautiful. The tropical nature of the resort was amazing as well.
The Residence is a fantastic accommodation venue that provided every luxury to our short Johannesburg visit. The staff are so friendly and willing to help. Facilities are great and the highlight is the restaurant where the food was exemplary. It is in a very secure location with large outdoor garden and deck including a fire pit for the cool evenings.

The perfect place to stay in Johannesburg I discovered this hotel motel than 10 years ago by accident when my flight was canceled and been keeping staying there since.
Super cozy place all rooms are huge with terrasses open fire place everywhere super friendly and efficient staff. I never thought of looking at another place to stay since my first stay.
We headed here after a disappointing night at the Westcliff. What a difference! The atmosphere was so relaxed, the staff were charming, and the food was great. There were so many beautiful places to sit and relax, and the gym was great as well. A great place to overnight in Johannesburg.

A beautiful oasis in the outskirts of Johannesburg. The rooms have elegant interiors and the people working there are extremely dedicated and friendly. Impeccable service. Last but not least, the food is just amazing. Kudos to Chef Nicolas, who is not only a magician but a true artist!

My husband and I came here in October 2024 for our honeymoon. It was a nice, charming hotel. Our room was spacious and clean. The food from the hotel's restaurant was good (we got to try a variety of local flavors) and the staff was professional.
