If you are looking for a short, no-frills stay in the heart of Bakewell, the Red Lion works!
Pros:

Location was great, right in the heart of Bakewell. Staff were very friendly. Convenient check-out process (key drop-box and exit through the fire escape as the pub was closed - this was a bit quirky and wouldn't suit anyone with any mobility issues)

Cons:

No breakfast option other than some porridge pots and biscuits in the room (although we did find a few spots around the town to have breakfast). Fine if you're only here for one or two nights but if you're staying longer it could get expensive!! Having to use the back fire escape to get back in in the evening as the pub closed around 10pm. The road was very noisy from very early in the morning, however this isn't a failing of the property and the age of the pub I guess meant no double glazing)

Pros:

The food in the pub was excellent.
The bed was comfortable and the shower in the en suite was very powerful

Cons:

There was no on site parking and we were told the safest place was a pay and display carpark some 5 minutes away

Super locatie, maar verblijf had wat plezieriger gekund.
Pros:

De locatie is fantastisch. Vriendelijk personeel.

Cons:

Lovely comfortable well positioned staff lovely definitely be back
Pros:

Bathroom bed and bed dressings lovely they provided a big fan as we had a heatwave very welcome

Cons:

Carpet was slightly scruffy in the room
The staircase leading to rooms could be more inviting with a simple change of some bright patterned wallpaper which would cost too much

Pros:

We loved our time here! We were exploring the Peak District, and Bakewell was an excellent jumping off point. The town itself has everything hikers could need, and walking around and exploring is so delightful. The pub is at the very center of town, right across from the bus stops. Access to our room before/after pub hours was easy, and the room was comfortable, clean, and cute. There was plenty of room for two people, and the bed was super comfortable. We especially appreciated having shampoo in the shower!

Cons:

Everything was great, no complaints.
