Absolutely terrible experience — one of the worst stays I’ve ever had.

The room was in pathetic condition, and the entire hotel was filthy. Nothing looked cleaned or maintained properly. For ₹1800 per night, this felt like a cheap, poorly run lodge, not a hotel. It’s shocking they charge this much for such substandard conditions.

The food was equally bad. We ordered chapathi and pepper chicken — the chapathis were tiny, overcooked, and almost inedible. Overall quality was extremely poor. Room service was useless — the heater in the room wasn’t working, and even after informing the staff, nobody bothered to fix it or even check.

On top of this, we had a very bad experience with a driver named Patrick, who was the one who recommended this hotel. He promised to take us around Kodaikanal covering main spots for ₹1800. Since we arrived late, he suggested doing it the next day, and I paid him ₹500 upfront (₹300 advance + ₹200 as a tip).

The next day, because of a taxi strike, he took us to just one place but still demanded ₹1500 more (excluding the ₹300 already paid). After arguing, we ended up giving him ₹500 more. In total, he took ₹1000 for doing almost nothing. This was completely misleading and felt like a clear rip-off.

Overall, this place is poorly maintained, overpriced, and completely unprofessional. The experience was made worse by being misled by someone who recommended the hotel in the first place. I strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you want to waste your money and ruin your trip.

Also, do not ever contact or trust this driver named Patrick.

Pros:

Not far away from the lake and the bus stand. Very easy to walk around

Cons:

Nothing special the floors are too cold. There is no carpet. The room door locks are damaged. Stayed with caution.

Location is A+.

Cons:

Everything else is worst if you are staying with family. I booked just to stay for the night but was disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. My expectation for the place was less but it was way below less. Could have maintained cleanliness for the least.
