The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection

From the moment I arrived I was greeted warmly and well looked after. The beautiful building is spotlessly clean and the staff were so helpful. Early check in wasn’t a problem and after dropping off my bags in my beautiful room, I went downstairs and explained I was waiting for my daughter to arrive as she had been volunteering overseas. The free shuttle bus is great and I took it to do some shopping, came back dropped off shopping, took it again for the airport train (which is the best way to get to KLIA) and came back with my daughter! We adored KL and had the most wonderful 5 days meeting lovely people, sightseeing and eating well. We’d use the pool in the afternoon to cool down (which we had to ourselves as all the people with kids used the other one) and then head out to dinner. One evening we couldn’t get a Grab and the concierge was amazing at helping us get transport to make sure we didn’t miss our dinner reservation.
Breakfast was wonderful, busy but with a fabulous selection replenished regularly. Every single member of staff we encountered was helpful and kind. We loved it and hope to return one day ❤️

Spacios room and affordable

We stayed for 3 nights, but were unfortunately very disappointed. We arrived about 8.30 in the evening, so quickly changed and went down to dinner. What a soulless restaurant. The choice on the menu was limited and the food very average. We tried to get into the Buffet which was overspilling into the foyer as it was Ramadan, but it was fully booked the whole time we were there, so no allocation for hotel guests. For the following 2 nights we booked the Brasserie at the St. Regis Hotel just down the road - absolutely fabulous food and service.

The Majestic needs to up its' game with a more casual eating space with fresher type food - maybe introduce an outside space to have a drink and snack.

Our room was fabulous and large with a separate sitting room area. The only problem was that there was no natural daylight as the room looked over another wall and we could not open the blinds, which was a shame.

The pool area was very dull - it could be such a good social space, but just a utility to tick the box.

The staff overall were brilliant, a couple of the younger staff seemed very disinterested and bored but on the whole good service.

Finally, breakfast was again disappointing. Loads of choice, but poor quality food.

We booked the Majestic as we like the Colonial vibe, but it was all look and no substance.

The property was amazing like the old with the new blended together exceptionally

The atmosphere and the rooms are wonderfully comfy.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the Perdana Botanic Gardens, and was not disappointed on that score; a quick 10 minute walk and I was able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Otherwise, I found the tower rooms a solid 4 star offering. Restaurant was ok, with lots of western options.

This was our second visit to this very good hotel. Since our last stay in 2023, the dining options have expanded. The hotel is still an oasis of colonial charm in busy KL. If you want something that isn't just a modern hotel, stay at the Majestic for great service, great dining and a very relaxing experience. Their high teas are very good too!
