A ten MINUS 2 for the "thugs" with the side hustle knocking and ringing the bell more that 10 times.
Pros:

Everything except the 2 thugs that are running a side hustle and ( front desk and "the collegue" ) knocking on our door at 12 midnight and ringing the door bell incessantly. WTF!!! why would these 2 MORONS try to embarrass the Families with such a beautiful hotel, location and investment. Everything was perfect until this moment . @ thugs managed to shame all of Sicily in this one moment.

Cons:

Amazing hotel. Perfect location with views of Mt Etna and the sea.
Large comfortable rooms. Best pool area ever with views of Mt Etna and the sea with beatiful green surrounding providing plenty of shade. Gazebo-like lunch/bar area by the pool.

Cons:

Limited parking. Fortunatly, the superb hotel staff parked it for us in a nearby garage so we did not have to worry about it.

Pros:

Beautiful and convenient setting. Fabulous views across to Mount Etna and down to the coast. Relaxed elegance. Fabulous swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff.

Pros:

posizione ovviamante eccellente, camera con vista sul mare e sulla citta' anche se solo da una finestra

Cons:

struttura un po vetusta ma nel complesso buona, lo stesso vale per l'arredamento, servizio colazione all'essenziale

Hotel dated and old fashioned but pool area and pool staff excellent.
Pros:

The pool area is beautiful and the pool and breakfast staff were very attentive and super friendly.

Cons:

The room was uncomfortably small and dated. There were no plugs by bedside table and bathroom was so small you could wash your hands while sitting on the toilet. Air conditioning system very noisy and not efficient making for an uncomfortable stay.

El horario de la piscina (09h-18h)teniendo en cuenta que he ido en verano esperaba que estuviese disponible hasta mucho más tarde.

Pros:

So we booked the room from 7. August till 10.August in Excelsior Pallace hotel. Due to mount Etna eruption our flight was cancelled and we came one day later. We called the hotel and gave them notice about situation. The hotel gave our room to somebody else but that didnt stop them to charge us for that night. When we arrived the day after we got another room without balcony. On the 10.august we received the message from our airline that our departure flight has been also cancelled so we kindly ask to stay one more night and of course they charged us that night too. But at the end with lot of negotiations like 2 hours with them they gave us small discount on last night. Overall not a nice experience. They have to be prepared like situations like this living next to volcano and expecting that guest can be prevented from coming on time and not to be punished for that like its our fault! And also one thing , for a four-star hotel, I would expect a higher standard of service and much friendlier, more attentive staff.
