Literally a ghost town. No one should stay here. Does not look as advertised. Pools are dark green water almost swamp like. receptionist is very rude. Avoid at all costs.
Wonderful hosts. Friendly. Warm. Family atmosphere. Water, pristine. Like a giant swimming pool at the end of your room.
Lovely home cooked Thai breakfast.
Highly recommend.
Lovely bungalow but no room service at all. The trash piled up for a week, no one collected it. We had to tell them three times before they eventually showed up and they did not even apologize or showed any remorse. Asked for a hammock and a chair pillow, they said they would need to find them first somewhere but nothing came up.
I stayed there for 4 nights. Sometime between the 3rd and 4th night, I had 200 USD and 200 HKD stolen from the room. Luckily nothing else was stolen. But what was more shocking and distressing was that the person at the reception made me feel like a culprit. I was told that it was impossible that anyone from the hotel could have stolen the money and that I was the one not to be trusted. I even told the girl at the reception that I was not expecting any compensation from the hotel, but at least they should consider the possibility that one of their staff could be responsible. But I was met with aggression and was told that I should just give up on this because they did not want a bad review for the hotel. I did not get the police involved because I did not want to spoil a short holiday for this amount of money. But I left the hotel in tears and very shaken up. So I will not recommend this hotel. If I am to describe just the place, it is pretty and some rooms are good value. The food in the restaurant is good. But nothing can make up for the distress and insult I had to go through. I would think that a basic sense of customer service would be to just empathise with my situation and be kind .. because the guest also knows that proving the theft and getting the money back would be quite impossible, but kindness and care was totally possible.
What can I say about this amazing hotel? Its the second time I have stayed here and first of all as always as I arrived I was greeted with a warm welcome.
Recently to cut a long story short I am not long back from what was an amazing holiday but unfortunately I was involved in a motorcycle accident that left me very shaken, hurt and scared.
The staff at this hotel were like my saviours and cannot recommended this resort highly enough. I will forever be grateful for there professional service and support at what was a very difficult time for me.
They helped me in everyway possible way from discounted accommodation to helping me with personal care of my injuries. To even running me to and helping deal with banking. If it wasn't for the staff at this resort giving me care beyond of there requirements I don't know who I would have coped. They made what was an incredibly difficult time a lot easier especially being away from home. Treated like family.
As always the food was to thee highest standard and I cannot wait to return. Great family run resort with stunning views. Cya soon :)
So there is like mainly 4 points I use to rate hotels in an tropical climate. The hotel failed all 4.
1. The bed must be ok - at my stay in Tharathip the bed was horrible. You got the springs poking you. Got some bruises from this. Put down a bedding mattress pls.
2. Fridge must work good - The one I got did not.
3. Reasonably mosquito safe - the are like 1 cm cracks everywhere in the construction of the hut.
4. Water runs good - taking a shower when the weather is just dripping is no fun. Tharathip had bad pressure (real bad) in shower an bumgun but not in the sink?
I don’t mind the location since I have a scooter but for someone who has not the location could be a problem.
Staff was ok and not like many of the other reviews.
Pool is dirty and has no shade.
But the price was right for 2 days.
Staff were so friendly and welcoming, especially the lady who checked me in. Very quiet and relaxed. But out of the way but there is scorer hire. Food was yummy.
Good hotel with a good view of beach. Beach is easily accessible.Although you won't find tides here, it's very peaceful.
From thong Sala port to hotel we paid 150 baht per person. Couldn't bargain much due to language barrier.
Room was very good. Checkout the room before you confirm. Most of the rooms have good view except few.
Restaurant ambiance is good here. Most of the food available are non vegetarian, but vegetarian can survive here too for couple of days.
You can book taxies for full moon party from the hotel itself and it's 200 baht per person.
Rating/review is applicable only for shorter duration of stay. I won't recommend for longer duration.
PS: all fares mentioned as of March 2019.
Service was not so good, they promised to pick us from pier, but they forgot, they upgrade our room, but room smelt very bad and door was broken, atmosphere of this hotel was busy and noisy. I can not recommend this hotel
Great staff overall very helpful and good was amazing
The location is abit out the way from the man hustle and bustle but this is what we wanted, no worries once hired a ped. The food is also very good, and very well priced compared to alot of other places.
We stayed at this resort purely so we could go to the full moon party. The party is a must on the bucket list, but to be honest there is not much more to do on the island of Koh Phangan.
Firstly, the room. They listed several things on booking.com that the room has - half were missing (kettle, minibar etc.). We also had ants in the room.
Secondly, the staff. They are very rude. No smile with your service and no manners. If you’re interested in renting a scooter for 250 baht, due to the poor location (nothing in walking distance!), they will demand your passports as insurance. We ended up taking a taxi instead which is more expensive but at least you won’t get scammed.
We also asked the restaurant if we could borrow some spoons for food. They asked for a 200 baht deposit...for spoons...what!?!?
If you want to save money and rubbish resort experience just hostel it, even if you’re with your partner. You’ll meet more interesting people to attend the full moon party with.
After a long day traveling we just walked down the street from our hotel to find a place to eat and came by this place.
The food was excellent, the setting at the beach and the cool night breeze from the sea were just perfect.
The ladies running this small restaurant were very friendly and our boys enjoyed the pool table whilst waiting.
Great place!
To begin with, it's a really nice and quiet place. The staff is great, the lady at the reception was really friendly and helpful. So was the restaurant main lady, always with a smile. Food was okay there.
By mistake, I booked a "superior hotel room", confused it with bungalow type. Luckily wasn't a problem to pay a bit extra at the place and upgrade to beach front bungalow pretty. Wonderful view from the window.
But don't be confused with good reviews. Rooms really are outdated, the bathroom of the bungalow we got was in a really poor condition, faucets green of mold and very unpleasant to touch even. Lots of holes, missing bulbs, crack between door and floor so big, any average sized creature can get in. Bed comfy, but not the pillows. Walls made of paper - every sound can be heard. If you do care about things like that - better not to book here. It does feel overpriced if to take those details into mind.
But it was immaculately clean, smelled fresh and the view from the window covered all the inconvenience. Really enjoyed one of the pools they have, and it felt even private since nobody was around.
You will be asked for a deposit during your stay ( 1000 baht ), got it returned without any question. Location is fine if you ride a bike.
The staff here are hard working, helpful and friendly. Front desk manager and restaurant manger were great. Rooms were cleaned quickly. Pool is nice and so close to the bar. We wished the bar was open past 10pm. Prices were reasonable and we had bikes so we could explore. I had 3 of my children aged 7, 10 and 25 with me. Our holiday was super! Staff gave great recommedations for places to see and visit. They were wonderful to the young children. WiFi was not very good.
Price and the quality doesn't meet. We didn't except anything like luxury, but friendly stuff and good hotel restaurant. Well, most of the stuff was unfriendly. We could describe the energy of hotel with one word - "weard". At first day we rented a scooter from the resort. After driving five minutes the back tire went flat. Luckily there was bike repaire place next to us. They fixed our vehicle. We told at reception about what happened. We drove with a kid witch made experience bit more scaryer. We asked if hotel could come a little half way. If we could pay repaire work half and half. Receptionist was unwilling. Her first reaction was that they cannot pay half and that they check scooters "every time". After one day boycotting all hotels services they realized that compromice is good deal for them. About services of Taratip. Well, the only good one is that thet have nice pools and waterslide. Restaurant quality is close to gass station and if u are hungry or thirsty after 22pm, forget it. Location is quite ok, but there is no good beach to swim front of the resort. Seaside is full of fisherman boats and water doesn't look so clean. So if u are looking for a happy beach holiday, go somewhere else.
There were so many things wrong with this hotel that it's hard to remember everything. But I'll keep the list short just to give you an idea. This is an old and out dated resort that has a worn look to it. Everything is cheap and poor quality from the bathroom fixtures, to the tile int he bathroom to the water flow from the faucet or the shower. It's a depressing feeling being in this place. One of the good things that worked here was the aircon which made for a sound sleep at night even though the bed was hard as a rock. The wifi in the room was not working most of the time which was also a disappointment. Also, this place is far from everything. It's a good 4-5 Km at least to get to where the town's activities and center is. Fortunately, we spent little time in the room and we slept rather well so this place earns 2 stars from me but for 950 baht per night, this was a poor value experience for us.
