Fantastic location right on beautiful beach and close to bars and restaurants
Good size, comfortable room and bathroom(with plentiful hot water) and lovely sea view balcony
Decor a little bit ‘tired’
In house restaurant service a bit slow
We had a very wonderful time at this hotel, our view from room 242 was superb, had a early morning cuppa on the balcony, listening to the birds and watching the ocean waves roll. The hotel is very clean, our room was always lovely and clean, our bed on arrival had been decorated with flowers as we were celebrating a belated 20th wedding anniversary. The food in the restaurant was of good quality, priced fairly well in comparison to other restaurants. Drinks were good, only downside was some of the staff did not show they were happy in their jobs. Entertainment was very good , was a shame we didn't hear the steel band. Beach was beautiful but did not see a turtle, sea could be a bit rough at times . Jennie on reception is a credit to the hotel as was the bell porter, how he carried our cases I do not know. We went on a trip to Harrisons Cave which was good and went to Harbour Lights near Carlisle Bay, both were a must. Met some lovely Canadian guests. Would have liked to stay longer, hope to be back sometime.
Sauber ! Toller Strand
Gäste reservieren liegen mit Handtüchern Bereits nachts bzw. früh morgens
Strand Mega schön und weitläufig
This hotel is perfectly located to explore the Island and has the convenience of being in St Lawrence Gap meaning plenty of bars and restaurants a short stroll away! The room we had was a good size, well equipped with kettle, small kitchenette, iron and board plus hairdryer. Shower was excellent and the bathroom was cleaned and restored each day! The beds were so comfortable meaning we slept well. The beach front location is unbeatable and the beach itself is stunning. Plenty of beds meaning you could choose to lounge on the beach or by the pool depending on your mood. Beach towels provided and can be swapped at reception when required. We have been so impressed we have booked to come back again next year!
Location and beach
Very expensive for room only
Location was good close to amenities easy to get local taxi to every where if not walking .
breakfast was adequate but not special
tea in a pot tasted like coffee
Reception staff helpful and looked after us well
Some of the staff in the dining room at breakfast were abrupt and rude at times however the older staff were lovely
This put us off having evening dinner there
Nice polite,helpful staff.Nice location,amazing sea views.
Gym 24 hours, but sometimes the key was missing,so I was unable to go to the gym gym.
It would have been nice to keep it open with the guests have to get the key.
Nice sea views.
Nice location.
Nice helpful staff.
The gym was 24 hours, but you supposed to get a key from the reception to go.
Sometimes the key was missing,so I was not able to go.
It would have been nice and easier just to leave the gym open so no stress for someone who wanted to go anytime.
There was not much in the gym,so I wondered why key and why it was closed all the time and unable to go without a key.
Location.
This property exceeded all expectations! Service, room, and the BEACH! The piece of Dover beach this property has makes it a 5-star hotel. It was never crowded, provided natural shade with the palm trees, easy rolling waves where you see turtles and even beach service. We are going back next year. Truly amazing.
Both myself and my mum were put up in this hotel overnight as our flight from Barbados got cancelled. That’s another story! #Aer Lingus
We shared a garden view room and for the price we paid we would expect a lovely room. Grubby to say the least. It was dark and cold, the toilet didn’t flush properly and the bath fills up when you have a shower! You also get a kettle and glasses and a noisy fridge but no tea, coffee, water etc!
We couldn’t even open the curtains as it was so overlooked.
I also had the worst nights sleep EVER. I think the road outside never sleeps. Cars speeding past all night, beeping, shouting, music. And it carried on in the day. I think I must have had a couple of hours sleep.
We also decided to have a snack at the bar when we arrived. The waitresses were all so miserable and we waited nearly an hour for TWO omelettes!
We noticed every single person here was British too. It felt like Benidorm but in Barbados!
We felt so out of place and so uncomfortable.
We just couldn’t wait to leave.
The hotel needs a full re vamp and nicer staff.
Would never recommend it to anyone.
Go to the spa across the street hotel. It has good prices too. Blank Canvas the spa i am pleased with my massages has anyone else visited?
This was our 1st Xmas abroad and to say it hasn’t disappointed would be an understatement. Outstanding hotel and the location is paradise!
We are currently in a garden room (117) which is overlooking the pool and garden terrace restaurant and also the beach! The staff are fabulous and the people in Barbados are probably one of the most hospitable and pleasant I have ever encountered. Today is Xmas day and the show they put on this morning with Santa, catapulted everyone into the spirit of the day. The children’s faces were wonderful to see. Our room is not dated as some have suggested it’s authentic to the country we are in and typically Barbadian! Do
I want to leave …NO, will I be returning absolutely! The area has plenty of bars and restaurants near by and there is plenty to do here or not if you just wish to soak up the idyllic beach, sunshine and swim with the turtles! Thank you Southern Palms we be leaving to go home and start saving to come back again!
The pool and bar area was lovely and the beach amazing!
The rooms are tired. Bathroom very small and in need of updating
Just leaving after another fabulous holiday at the Southern Palms.
Don’t listen to the gripes about staff - if you take the time to engage then you get bit back in spades. That’s how life works…
Yes, the rooms are a little tired but hey, you get what you pay for in this game. If you want a hotel that looks and feels like a million more around the globe then pay twice the price and book yourself into a West coast bubble.
We will be back again soon…,,
Stunning beach, delightful staff - Linda, Eureka, so kind
Nothing
Great beach front location and lovely pool. Lots of loungers. Water provided by the pool every day for guests to help themselves. Easy access to Lawrence Gap main road with all the bars and restaurants. Room and patio area were large
Extremely tired room. Bath mats used at side of bed instead of rugs. Hairdryer kept flickering the lights. Room at far end of side on ground floor and felt a little isolated. Shutters at side of room door which had no glass and an adult could easily put their arm through and open the door from the inside. We felt it was a security issue.
