Tolle Lage direkt am See, aber....
Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt - leider war die Information im Vorfeld ungenügend. Es hätte sehr geholfen zu wissen, wie man mit dem Auto bis zum Hotel kommt - sehr steile aber wunderschöne Einfahrt, wenn man es weiss. Das Auto wurde dann in der Tiefgarage für uns parkiert. Guter Service.
Leider wurde uns im Vorfeld bei der Buchung auch nicht mitgeteilt, dass sich das Hotel noch fast im "Winterschlaf" befindet: das Restaurant war ganz geschlossen, nur die Bar war geöffnet.
Das Personal war freundlich, businessmässig, und nur ein kleiner Teil des Frühstücksraums war war geöffnet (aber mit toller Aussicht!)
Was mich aber am meisten gestört/enttäuscht hat war das "reduzierte" Frühstück - keine warmen Eierspeisen, keine Müslimischungen... etc - auch wurde nicht aufgefüllt, wenn etwas leer war, obwohl es noch eine Stunde Zeit für Frühstück war - kurzum, einem 4**** Hotel nicht würdig! Da sind wir mit kleineren und weniger Sternen viel besser verwöhnt worden.
Mindestens eine Bemerkung in dieser Richtung auf der Buchungsseite, spätestens aber bei der Buchung, wäre fair (Hotel nicht im Vollbetrieb osä..)
Und ja, es ist in die Jahre gekommen - aber was nicht stört, wenn der Service stimmt.
Das Zimmer ist wirklich nicht grosszügig konzipiert und das Badezimmer ist klein und um auf die Toilette zu sitzen muss man sich quasi beim Lavabo einfädeln - aber es ist alles da inkl Bidet...
Das Zimmer, wie auch die Gänge wirken düster, alles in einem dunkleren Grün gemalt, vielleicht wirkt es im Sommer heller...

- Frühstück Buffet nicht einem 4* Hotel würdig - wahrscheinlich der Saison geschuldet
- Badezimmer sehr klein/eng
- Düstere Zimmer, da die Wände dunkelgrün und schmucklos sind

Wir hatten eine schöne Aussicht auf den See. Ruhiges Zimmer. Das Frühstück war ok. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

Cons:

Der Fussboden im Zimmer war beschädigt. Beim Frühstück fehlte mir das Rührei und der Salami war auch alle.

Bon petit déjeuner, mais la salle tout en longueur ne nous a pas permis d’être seuls à notre table !

Cons:

Il nous a été fourni une chambre minable pour 320€. La Clim ne fonctionnant pas, on a finalement eu une très belle chambre, mais la différence entre les 2 étant tellement énorme, comment fait-on pour être sûr de tomber sur la bonne : un peu agaçant !!!

We like staying in Orta San Guilio & thé hôtel was in a perfect location right on the lake

Location was excellent on the lake
Breakfast good, restaurant ok

Cons:

Maintenance could be improved - lights flickered on and off, safe broken, a slat in the bed was broken. Emails requesting information before arrival were not answered. Wifi in room (in the Villa Gippini) was weak & unstable.
