The grounds are stunning, one afternoon we saw monkeys swinging through the trees behind the pool. The rooms are so-so, certainly not a "romantic" hotel with families and hikers, and travel groups going through, most banging their doors as they came and went. No fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker, no shampoo or even bath soap. Hard (bug huge) bed and flat pillows. The door knob kept falling off, so hubby pulled out a screw driver and fixed it himself. The a/c worked great and was sorely needed. The bathroom (while clean) always smelled of urine. The location is great with everything from food to the bus stop, to the beach, and the national park. But the hotel entrance is also about 50 feet from the only main road, so that also brings a lot of noise from motorcycles, busses and trucks, round the clock. For the dollar, we didn't feel like it was worth it and wouldn't return.
Very quiet, simple hotel in Quepos I stayed just to be close to the airport for departure
I found my stay 5 stars based on comparing my other experiences when traveling to Quepos. The owners are on site daily. They take an interest in their guests and are always available. Location: Excellent. You have a bus stop 1 minute walk which takes you directly to Manuel Antonio Park. Town is a quick 5 minute walk to any place needed, to eat, etc. The pricing is highly reasonable. I have stayed at places that catered to more backpackers at much lower costs. Hotel Villa had a swimming pool which I desired on this visit and was willing to pay a higher price. However, the closer you get to Manuel Antonio, the hotels/spas/lodging all charge high fees compared to Hotel Villa. Therefore, if you need a clean room, comfortable, private bath, air conditioning, ownership oversight, and great customer service, it is doubtful you will find a comparable property in the Quepos area. It should be noted that buses run to Manuel Antonio every 15-20 minutes, and costs approximately 75 cents. Why pay 2-3x the nightly costs when you have the Hotel Villa to book.
Excellent hotel. Nice location. Friendly staff.
Pool was great. Food was good. Easy access to beaches
Loved discovering this place in Quepos. The staff, front desk & the owners are lovely & we’re so helpful & kind. Lovely gardens, rooms, & dining area. I used the pool, nice after a long day in the heat. Slept great. Bus, taxis all available close by to go up to Manuel Antonio.
Perfect Location-walking distance to bus terminal, Manuel Antonio, restaurants and shops. Beautifully landscaped property with pool. Room was exquisitely constructed with attention to detail. No ice, fridge, microwave, or coffee maker in room.
The hotel is so cute! Incredibly affordable! Very clean! Breakfast was very good! The owners and staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the area!
Rooms: The rooms were cozy and clean, the showers were very good! The mattress was not as comfortable for me, but I was able to sleep alright. And you can manually turn the porch light off if you need to!
Safety: The attendants had security cameras and a gate. Only recommendation was to leave nothing in your car at all.
Noteworthy details: The garden surrounding the area was beautiful and the pool was relaxing.
We stayed at Villa Romantica with my wife over the new year’s break. The hotel is amazing and the staff is super nice and helpful. Highly recommended!
The host (Wolfgang) was very welcoming. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed very much our stay. The location is great, walkable distance from center Quepos.
There is room for improvement for the furniture. The bed and pillows were not bery comfortable.
This is a lovely hotel tucked into a tropical corner in Quepos with abundant wildlife. The owners make you feel right at home making your stay even more pleasant. The rooms are clean, offer laundry service and the daily cocktail by the pool was a wonderful way to spend the afternoons after tours. Easy walking to downtown and the sea walk. Around the corner the bus stop is right there to get you to Manual Antonio Park. I hope to go back again.
The owners are a really nice people and the front desk attendants Christian and Emily as well.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY !
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE !
The property is very cozy and is well laid out with a nice pool and is located within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. That is good part, now here was my experience which was caused by the hotel management and hopefully will not be repeated but buyer beware. This property management informed me I would need pay cash which for me traveling overseas I did not have the amount to pay for 6 nights. The payment type through Expedia is Visa, but the hotel only accepted cash, prompting me to leave early. The hotel staff did not do enough to make this situation right. Additionally, after I informed them I was leaving due to my inability to pay cash for the full booking their attitudes changed which made my family feel extremely uncomfortable upon checkout. Their staff was monitoring us closely as if we were going to leave without paying. In all my travels, I have never paid cash for a hotel in the past 20 years. This is not how hotels are normally paid in CR or mostly anywhere else and nowhere else in Costa Rica did I need to pay cash except at Tollways. The expectation to pay cash should have been communicated prior to my arrival and for this reason and the attitude of the staff when I departed is why I'm rating the hotel very low.
We enjoyed the stay, but the administration seemed un informed.
Villa Romantica is a great property. Wolfgang the owner and his team are very nice and helpful. The property is in a very cool location that feels like you are in the jungle.
The pool was a nice bonus. The rooms are great. Everything you need, including air conditioning.
You are a short walk to restaurants, the waterfront and the marina. You are also a short distance to Manuel Antonio Park.
Overall I would stay here again and recommend it for others. Good value for your money.
Incredible staff- friendly and personable. The pool was lovely.
