Hotel Golden

My family of 5 and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Golden before and after our cruise and would happily recommend it. The location is excellent and it truly offers great value for your money. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well cared for, which made it a pleasure to return to at the end of each day.

The family who runs the hotel is incredibly kind and attentive. They made us feel very welcome from the start, and their hospitality really stood out. When we first booked, Giuseppe personally reached out to confirm our reservation, which was a thoughtful and reassuring touch. During our stay, they were always happy to help and even arranged a taxi for us each day, making everything very easy and stress free.

The surrounding area is also very convenient. There is a café on the corner for a quick breakfast, and just around another corner you will find a small restaurant if you prefer to sit down and enjoy a proper breakfast. Nearby there is also a small corner store, and directly across the street is a pizza parlor where you can grab some fabulous and inexpensive pizza for lunch or dinner.

Overall, Hotel Golden is a lovely place to stay with a welcoming atmosphere, a fantastic location, and exceptional value. I would gladly stay here again.

Great family owned and ran hotel. The family are very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. Very close to Borghese park and the US Embassy. Short walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain.

Boutique hotel near Borghese park. Clean, thoughtful caring staff, family owned and operated. No breakfast but cafes near by. Comfortable but small rooms with good beds and linens. Very safe and secure building, must be buzzed in. Giuseppe was usually on the desk and his help with cabs and fantastic local restaurants was very much appreciated.
We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, rooms are very clean and staff were all exceptionally helpful.
Close to bus and metro stops and central to all of Romes historical destinations. Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain only a 10-15 minute walk. Local restaurants are literally steps away.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Giuseppe and Manuel were very helpful and kind. The room is spacious. Buses and metro very close to the hotel. Good restaurants around. To be recommended if you don’t want to stay in the middle of the antique Rome.

It is a nice family-owned hotel and our stay was pleasant.

The property was in a great location, walkable to all major sites and was kept clean, staff was very friendly, only thing I did not like was the fact I could hear everyone checking in and out from my room and all conversations in the lobby at all hours of the night, I was in the room next to the reception desk on the right which I feel is not a great spot to have a room, could also hear everyone going up and down the stairs

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here! The room was so beautiful and the location was great! The best part was probably the staff though - it is a family-owned business and we got to meet several of the family members. They were all so kind, helpful, and flexible both before and during our trip. They stored and cared for our luggage when we arrived early and were willing to offer an incredibly early check-out as well. We appreciated their delicious restaurant recommendations as well! We highly recommend this hotel! :)

It is a family owned property. The owner was incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations, ordering taxi/limo service and general info of the neighbourhood. We appreciated it was walkable to main attractions.

Comfortable, convenient. A lovely stay.

We visited this family-owned hotel back in 2016 and decided we really wanted to stay here. When the opportunity came up to arrange our lodging for this trip, we booked our stay. We reserved a Classic Double based on the photographs on their website. The photographs make the room look much larger than it was. First of all, they need to correct their website, the first image you see is: “To make a great start to your day. Mamma Teresa awaits you with a delicious breakfast. Fresh products and impeccable service!”. This has not been offered since Covid, and that was in 2020. I really think they can change the website to inform their prospective guests that breakfast is no longer being offered. The rooms are very clean and very quiet.

Our room really should be called a Classic Single as it had only one chair; there was only room for one luggage rack; there was very little room on either side of the bed to get in or out (check out our pictures), if one person was seated at the desk and the other person wanted to get by, they had to get up. The bed was hard as a rock. The air conditioning could not be controlled – it was only cold. The TV instructions were not clear. Thankfully, there was a fridge in the desk. The closet is not deep enough for standard clothes hangers, so your clothes hung side ways.

The bathroom had its own problems – the hair dryer was a left over from the 70’s; the sink was new and there was a bidet; the toilet seat was not fastened property to the toilet (it was slightly askew and firmly attached). The best part of the bathroom was the rain shower head in the shower and hot water pressure. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in our stay.

Location was perfect. Nice restaurants and coffee place less than 50 yards. Will stay again.

We only stayed one night and had a great experience. All the family members we met were personable and provided excellent customee service.

Charming family owned boutique hotel with easy access to most major tourist attractions. Quiet and very clean. Would highly recommend.

Charming family run hotel full of character! In a quiet neighborhood away from the touristy areas. Staff was a bit distant upon arrival, but warmed up to us later. Older property, to be sure, but well kept. Bathrooms could use some updating and better amenities, but adequate.
