Very different room experiences!
Pros:

The hotel did some Halloween decorations and the staff helped with getting our suitcases up multiple stairs. Staff was very helpful during the whole stay, providing ductape and listening to our complains, even switching us up to another room after the first night. Location was a big bonus, close to the city centre and Haymarket station.

Cons:

The hotelrooms weren't clean (mouldy and hairs everywhere) and the first room we stayed in didn't have a working shower; it didn't have a temperature switch, almost no water running and it was cold. We couldn't shower and were staying for a midweek, very happy we could switch rooms to a better shower but that one took long to get warm too and the water pressure still wasn't great.

Toilet in the first room kept running after use. Very loud noise came off it. Neighbours were loud during the night and kept the hallway lights on, which lightened our room too. We had no sleep at all.

The second room was so much better, on the ground floor so also no stairs to walk, which made our stay much more pleasant.

Overall we still wouldn't come back with the risk of getting that first, unusable room again. It should get renovated first, this wasn't worth the money and discomfort. The second room was exactly what we expected and should have gotten in the first place!

Pros:

Direkte Lage mit Airporttram erreichbar.
Heizung war vorhanden und einstellbar.
Wasserkocher da.
Teppichboden Gott sei Dank,da kalt ohne Heizung und völlig verrotteten Fenstern.
Kaffee und Snackmöglichkeiten im Foyer von 7 bis 11 Uhr .
Ein von Innen bezauberndes Haus.
Betten sehr gut.Bequemlichkeit und Deckenqualität besser als erwartet.

Cons:

Im 4.OG,durch 4 Extratüren teils steilen Treppen ins OG.
Das Haus ist von 1860 und so hat es sich gehalten.
Badezimmer und WC im Zimmer aber völlig abgeranzt.
Schimmlige Duschecke,verdreckte Lüftung,kein Fenster.Handtücher gross und weich aber völlig an den Seiten zerfleddert.
Lampen teilweise defekt.
Licht schlecht.
Die Fenster sind ALLE NICHT zu öffnen.
Beklemmendes Gefühl.Sie fielen fast aus den völlig verrotteten Rahmen.
Immerhin gab es Tageslicht durch die FENSTER zur Strasse.
Die Vorhänge abgerissen,Kabel und alte Halterungen für die Vorhänge.
Möbel alt und abgenutzt.
Licht schlecht.

Man kann es nur als schäbig bezeichnen .
Uns versöhnt nur der Preis für 5 Nächte.

Lo recomiendo
Pros:

La limpieza, La ubicación. Teníamos 2 armarios con sus perchas, una comoda amplia, un tocador. La habitación grande. La cama muy comoda. El servicio muy bien, con mucha presión de agua.

Cons:

Es muy antiguo necesita renovar . Creo que es lo único que no me ha gustado, bueno y que en las plantas de arriba el agua tenía poca presión

Stay with lots of character.
Pros:

This is a MINT hotel/guest house. Trams to city centre just around the corner. Also a convenience shop and a couple of take-aways close. One of those rooms where you actually have a key. 24-hour reception, so someone always there when we came in and go out, felt very safe indeed. Room was exceptional, very spacious and a four-poster bed to boot. Very warm and cosy. And get this: it had a 3-door wardrobe - I put my bag in, closed the door and one of the others doors opened!!! Brilliant - like hotels should be. Lots of character. We only saw a few members of staff but were brilliant all of the time. SUPER STAY.

Cons:

We knew there's wasn't a breakfast option, so we had some cereal in our rooms. But we knew that when we booked. And there's loads of places to eat anyway. So, really - we like everything about the stay.

Soggiorno confortevole in un palazzo storico
Pros:

La camera era bellissima, il bagno aveva la vasca. Essendo abituati a temperature più calde abbiamo patito il freddo di Edimburgo (nonostante fosse ottobre e alcune persone girassero in maniche corte): la vasca è stata una grande risorsa.
L’edificio mantiene il suo fascino antico, con i pavimenti che scricchiolano e i soffitti decorati.
I receptionist tutti gentilissimi e disposti ad aiutare, abbiamo infatti usufruito del deposito bagagli gratuitamente.
Ho anche gradito molto il foglio dove si racconta la storia della nascita di questo hotel.
Spiegano anche il perché non ci sia l’ascensore, cosa che ho trovato normale in realtà, data la bellezza storica del palazzo.

Cons:

Ci sono delle piccole manutenzioni da fare.
Non è necessariamente una cosa che non mi sia piaciuta. É un palazzo antico é normale che ci siano.

Bra läge för tågresenärer.
Pros:

Läget bra nära tågstationen. Lite slitet hus men enkelt och rent.Ingen frukost ingick men man fick ändå varm dryck och snacks..Bra läge för tågresenärer.

Great Location for Exploring Edinburgh
Pros:

Location close to Haymarket Station, and walking distance to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Friendly staff quickly addressed an issue with one of the windows. Simple takeaway continental breakfast. Spacious room.

Cons:

Climbing the stairs to our room with our luggage.
