My room was ready before 3pm and I was allowed to check in early by the gracious front desk staff.
The bed was a good size especially for a solo traveller.
The room on the ground floor was smallish (may be able to look smaller if the bed chosen was a single size i think?) but it had super high ceiling that I didnt feel claustrophobic at all. There is a window behind the tv and dresser table with mirror but being in the ground floor - it only really looks out to the street outside. What I found extremely helpful and unique was the shower that had a hand held nozzle aside from the main rain shower head above. All the previous accommodations I had in the UK did not have this option.
Location was exceptional. Literally two mins walk from the Haymarket train station and the tram stop to the airport. Highly recommended for travellers who are time poor like myself.
P.S. access to wifi and youtube, netflix, prime etc inside the room was very helpful.
The hallway just outside rooms 1, 2 and 3 had a very strong wet dog smell that never went away for the whole duration of my stay (5 nights, 6 days). Thankfully, it did not seem to permeate the inside of my room. Inside the room, the heaters were all portables. One in the bathroom which was very noisy but did really heat up rather quickly. The small ones in the main room are both located twoards the wall located the furthest away from the bed which could be a problem for me during winter when its really really cold. But it I think this is because there were no electrical plugs found on the walls closer to the bedhead - at all. Which was another minor inconvenience for me because charging my phone, watch, etc can only be done away from the bed. There were too many furniture in the room of that size which made it look rather cluttered. In saying that - I think it will made even better if they provide a full length mirror instead of the short dresser and short stool.
Cheap and cheerful really nice staff however rooms feel slightly dated,on a plus however great links into the city and rest of central Scotland, paid 100 for 1 night and all things considered (location and services) would say it is worth it, staff were nice
Only concern: We are used to 180 x 200 cm beds with two single mattresses and two times bedding. So the beds are not really comfortable for us. Too small, too complicated regarding the bedding.
Great location for the train station and the tram
Everything was fine
