A Truly Exceptional Group Experience
Pros:

We had an excellent experience at Home2 Suites by Hilton. From even before our group arrived, we felt truly taken care of and supported by the entire team.

The service was outstanding. Julian and Sabrina were exceptional in their attention to detail and kindness. They went above and beyond to assist us and generously supported us with thoughtful amenities for our guests, which made a meaningful difference in our stay.

We are extremely happy with the experience and sincerely appreciate their professionalism and warmth. We highly recommend this hotel and truly look forward to returning soon.

Quiet and comfortable.
Pros:

Breakfast was okay. Appreciated having laundry facilities that I could use. One of the reasons I chose this place.

Cons:

But thought it was closer to center city Austin with having Austin in its title. First time in Austin.

Clean Stay, But Breakfast Needs Serious Improvement
Pros:

The room and property were very clean, which I always appreciate when traveling. Unfortunately, the continental breakfast was disappointing. The pancake-shaped eggs were unappealing, the bagels were rock hard, and overall there didn’t seem to be any care or pride in the offerings. After one look, we decided to skip breakfast at the hotel and eat at a local restaurant instead.

If cleanliness is your top priority, this hotel delivers. But if a good breakfast is important to you, you might want to plan on dining elsewhere.

Worst Experience Ever!
Pros:

I rarely leave reviews but this one needed to be written. The hotel was clean however, the front desk agent Matthew was horrible. Upon arriving to go to my room, I noticed that my digital key was not available on app, so I stopped at front desk to either get key activated or receive hard keys. However, I was not greeted with a hello, welcome to our hotel or anything. Matthew gave the impression that he doesn't like to deal with African Americans and just wanted me to leave him alone. I informed Mr. Rude (Matthew) that my digital key wasn't working and could he help. He asked for my I.D., upon him checking for my reservation, he stated he didn't see a reservation under my name and asked for my confirmation number. I provided him with this information and he just kept acting very annoyed. He didn't acknowledge me by my name, didn't thank me for being an Honors member or anything. I had already picked my room on the app, just needed the keys. I informed him what my room number was and he proceeding to tell me that I was given a different room. Okay, no problem. My husband and I were traveling with our two pets so we proceeded to go to our room. Upon entering the room, I noticed that we didn't have any water that is usually given upon check-in or left in the room. I proceeded to go back downstairs and Mr. Racist (Matthew) was on his phone. He ended his call, I asked for the two bottle of waters and as a long time Hilton Corporate employee I reminded him of Hilton policy/procedures when greeting a guest. I guess he didn't like that. I went back to the room and my husband and I were about to rest for the evening. The phone rings in the room and it was Matthew asking a bunch of questions about my dogs, (i.e. how much they weigh, what are the breeds, do I have paperwork that shows their weight etc.) I was very annoyed as when we were checking in a white couple had two dogs and one of their pets was the same size if not bigger than mine. I asked, did you ask the white couple all these questions you're asking me? Of course, I didn't get a response to that question. Matthew stated that if our dogs were over 40 pounds we would have to board them or leave the hotel at not charge. To avoid any confrontation as we now know that he was mad that I confronted him about his behavior we were no longer welcomed. So we gathered our things and pets and proceeding to leave. I stopped at front desk to get my receipt to make sure I wasn't being charged and Matthew stated he would send receipt to my email. I was so mad that I didn't check my email until I got home the next morning and notice that Matthew not only did he still charge me for our stay, he sent me another guest personal information via email. This is a major breach of privacy! I called the hotel and the hotel manager Mr. Lopez was supposed to call me back, needless to say, I'm still waiting on that phone call. I have put in a personal complaint against this hotel with Hilton Corporate office and will definitely not refer anyone to this hotel again! Experience was the WORST!!! I've stayed at plenty of Hilton hotels with our fur babies and was never treated like this! Matthew (Racist Pig) I will continue to pray for you.

Vindictive staff, not Hilton quality
Pros:

I’ll spare you the details, but we were kicked out for three reasons. The first was because the credit card was declined (moving company double charge the card a substantial amount). The second reason was because we didn’t have a reservation for the rest of the week. This “you have to leave” message they gave to my 11 year old daughter while my wife was on the phone. Unreal. And the final reason was because our dog was 5 pounds over their animal weight limit. This was after we had been there for two days! It seemed like when they couldn’t evict us for one reason they looked for other reasons. The manager denied ever telling us to leave for the first two reasons, but a traumatized 11 year old tells a different story. When that turned out to not be true, they finally said our dog was too big. The dog was 5 lbs over their limit. This was all after us staying there for two days. It seemed like they were just searching for a reason.
A complaint was filed by the corporate office.
Go to the Aloft hotel next door. They said they get a lot of business from dissatisfied customers from this Home2Suites.

Terrible customer service, dirty, grimy , dark, smelly.
Pros:

Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had at a Hilton. This is a dirty, smelly, grimy hotel. It was dark, no lighting in parking lot. I had to scrub the mildew around the sink and faucet before I could use it. The shower had mold. Breakfast was a joke… the food was TERRIBLE and we couldn’t eat it. Our TV was broken and they didn’t have anyone that could even come and look at it because of staffing. The person told us breakfast ended on the first day we checked in at 10, and when we showed up, it had ended an 9. So that was a disappointment . No apology was made . They messed up our reservation and double booked our room requiring us to leave 3 nights early and scramble to find another hotel. The pool was dirty and we didn’t feel comfortable with swimming so we didn’t . The customer service at this location was EXTREMELY rude . We were treated soooo poorly and we have stayed at dozens of Hiltons. This will be our last.
Luckily the Marriott next door accommodated us immediately and we were thrilled to have a beautiful, clean hotel!! And it was even cheaper! If anyone takes the time to read this… do NOT waste your money on this hotel. It was soooo disappointing in every single way. Go to the Marriott next door.

NOT up to Home2 Suites standards - CHEAP interior and poor attention to details
Pros:

We love Home2 Suites and we have stayed at MANY of them over the years. We travel with our dog and bring all our own food, so the suite configuration works well for us. The two-sink setup and kitchenette are perfect for our needs.

HOWEVER... this particular Home2 location is NOT up to par. I have no idea how long ago this place was built, but is looks... well, not necessarily dated, but just CHEAP. It looks like it is held together with duct tape. The workmanship of the building and materials used are very poor quality. For instance, the elevator buttons on the walls all had plastic casing that was totally busted and pushed into the wall (on at least two floors). The walls have a cheap wallpaper and underneath it, the drywall (or whatever it is) looks like it is warped and uneven. All throughout the hotel, the grout in the tile is dingy and missing, with many of the tiles being cracked and stained.

Now the things that I disliked the most: only ONE luggage cart that I could find. The day we checked in, we were the only ones moving stuff and there was just one. The morning we left, none to be found until someone was done using that one we used during check-in. Every time we went through the lobby we only saw the ONE cart in the entryway, so I can only assume they just had that one. In addition, it is the newer crappy kind, that is small and the base is shaped like a triangle and we HATE those. PLEASE go back to the regular ones that just have rectangular base. When you have a lot of stuff like we do, you need a luggage cart. Again, CHEAP.

No computer chair and no extra linen were provided. In EVERY other Home2 we have stayed in, those items were there inside the clean and ready room. I informed the front desk and the housekeeping staff brought me the items very quickly, but they should have been in the room already. Who notices that a WHOLE desk chair is missing and doesn't replace it?? CHEAP.

The bathroom door is a pocket door. Pocket doors are great for Victorian ghosts who don't need to open the door to go through it. For the rest of us, pocket doors are inconvenient and provide VERY LITTLE privacy. The pocket door to our bathroom was stuck so hard that it would not shut without a TREMENDOUS amount of force, and then to open it we had to keep a butter knife in the bathroom to wedge it back open. The door had scuff marks all over it, indicating that this has been a problem for a long time. CHEAP.

Finally, the water the morning we were leaving was fine one minute, then the next minute there was almost no water pressure and it just trickled out. What kind of hotel has poor water pressure? CHEAP.

I will find another chain to patronize if I EVER stay at another Home2 that is this bad. Let me tell you, (unlike whoever runs this hotel) the price we paid for one night was NOT cheap, especially when the pet fee is now $75 (non-refundable).

Not up to Hilton standards.
Pros:

As a long-time Hilton customer, this hotel is NOT up to their standards. The parking area is dark. There were no parking lot lights working while we were there. The entrance way looked more like a back door than an inviting entrance. It was dark and the landscaping we saw in the morning was pathetic.

As for the room, there were no outlets on one side of the bed (they were behind the bed and there were no outlets in the clock or lamp). One of the sliding shower doors did not slide so opening the shower to get out was not easy. We only got three pillows on the bed and two large towels.

All things considered, I wish we had stayed the the ALOFT next door. Very disappointing stay.
Stay was August 29th-30th, 2025

Do Better!!!!
Pros:

Only 1 elevator was working which made the wait time for an elevator sometimes 20 minutes. The breakfast was very poorly stocked every morning and when we asked for anything, were told what they had was already out (with several hours left to go). The room had 1 fork in the drawer with 2 spoons & 4 knives. The bathroom door was almost impossible to open and close!

Pros:

I have been to Austin three times, first stay was at this hotel and had a great experience, second time we tried another hotel and it was ok, we decided to stay at this hotel again because of the experience the first time around, we get in our room late to find out the TV is not working, because it was so late I didn’t call the front desk, the next morning I reported it and was told they would tell the maintenance guy, we waited all day and the guy never showed, I go back down that night and say something to the lady at the desk and she told me he didn’t come in until Monday which was to late, she did offer to change rooms for us but it was to late and we were leaving the next morning at 6. I was very disappointed with this stay and will consider another hotel on my next trip to Austin.
