For those from the United States, this Holiday Inn (and Holiday Inn hotels in Asia, in general) will far exceed any expectations. The hotel is located right outside a BTS station, with plenty of shopping and restaurants in walking distance.
Check in was very smooth, although it was fairly busy due to my stay during NYE. Platinum status was recognized and I was given a room with a better view.
The room felt very bright and spacious for the price. Very clean and well kept room. The bathroom was basic but offered all the standard amenities. Bed was very comfortable and air conditioning was very cold. Plenty of space in the room for luggage. I didn't hear any noise from the street or from other rooms. I did not eat breakfast but took a look - very solid from what I could see on my walk around.
The value of this room is very high - I used a free night award for my stay and it really shocked me how nice the hotel was. I have stayed at the Intercontinental next door a few times and really like that hotel, but this hotel offers many of the same pros as far as location and noise at a fraction of the price.
