Good location
Basically nice room comfortable bed
On check in the lady showed us the room and explained there was a pantry next door where we could make tea etc and where continental breakfast would be. That evening there were no tea bags and no milk. In the morning nothing had changed I had to go shopping for milk tea and some fruit! No one available to speak to.
Complained that evening and things improved.
No wardrobe in room or more to the point no hangers to use the hooks
The bex
The room was very dark, no centre light.
Windows only opened 4 inches room extremely hot. Blind was broken and permanently down.
The restaurant closed as no chef.
Kitchen & breakfast facilities unacceptable ....small separate kitchen for breakfast comprising of 3 individual boxes cornflakes ,loaf of bread , 2 tea bags , coffee making machine & sachets .Milk in the fridge was off .
Sink full of washing up plates mugs & cutlery from previous days guests .Bin in our bathroom was full of used sanitary stuff from previous guests & used linen .....sheets & towels left outside our room .
Landlady kindly emptied the bin, only to find out later that she emptied the contents into the open bin in the kitchen area. The old linen was just left outside our room for the station.
We booked 2 nights as we were at a wedding for the weekend . The place was so awful ( confirmed in conversation also by the the other guests staying ) that we packed our stuff and left after night 1, and drove back home to Dorset rather than suffer another night .
The place is uncared for and unloved , &the staff appeared lazy just doing the absolute minimum .
The premises have great potential , but needs a little investment and a complete change of mindset .
The location in the village is nice .
Good facilities and very clean.
Next to the pub!
Next to pub was great but a bit noisy as well
Lovely room and a comfy bed
Better selection for breakfast would be nice - but good value
The photos show a tasty looking breakfast but we were shown a small kitchenette which we shared with the other room and this had cereal and coffee and milk to help ourselves to. This was fine but the expectations were raised with misleading photos on the listing.
There was music playing in the pub until after 2am and then people were still there and socialising below us past this time. It was near impossible to sleep. Having checked opening times we were willing to put up with music until midnight as the pub was supposed to close at this time but to keep going for two hours longer made sleep impossible. Even with ear plugs.
Also, we were having to use just one small lamp to light the whole room. The other lamp didn't work and there are no ceiling lights. It was ok as it was summer but in the winter it would be very dark. We relied on our torches on our phones!
Bed was comfy & room clean. Quiet apart from a car alarm going off which wasn't their fault.
Breakfast not as advertised! Photos advertised a cooked breakfast, eggs benedict & pancakes, we were shown a help yourself kitchen with cereals & white bread for toast & orange juice in fridge which had to be eaten in bedroom. Very dissappointed. Checked since we got home & it does not say continental as the landlady said & if so there should also be meats & cheese & healthier bread.
There are two rooms and they are exactly as they are in the photos. Big size rooms. Great location. Loved having our own kitchen with plenty of supplies. Suited our needs perfectly.
Absolutely nothing!!
Beautiful pub tastefully decorated and very comfortable and clean bedroom with large bathroom with full size bath and shower
Nothing
Room clean and tidy bed comfortable.
No toilet paper, Photos show a full English breakfast but you just get a room at the end of the corridor with some cereals and bread this was the most disappointing bit for me.
Location, cleanliness, food and service!
Hot water not very hot
Very large room with comfortable bed. Good selection of breakfast food, cereals, porridge, 3 types of fruit, bread for toasting or sandwiches, butter and jam, orange juice, coffee, tea or hot chocolate. There was plenty of milk. The en suite had bath and shower. The shutters worked well as we could leave the window open during the night but still have privacy and darkness
The guest kitchen area for preparing breakfast was very warm which felt uncomfortable
Beds were comfortable and allowed early check so we could change as we had a wedding to attend
When we returned on the evening after the designated check in time One room was not cleaned, bed was unmade and there were no clean towels
My pregnant wife and I booked for one night stay. Room is very close to pub entrance/exit (open late and can be very noisy). Unfortunately, the hot water was not working throughout the property. This was initially flagged by our neighbours on our day arrival and then by us our day of departure - no solution was made. We were promised a 50% refund by the landlady, but this never came. After repeated attempts to resolve this with the venue directly via email, telephone, WhatsApp, and then via booking.com, we have still not received any refund and they have not replied to any contact. Would not recommend staying.
No breakfast available, tried to call the pub but no answer. I finally managed to speak with the manager who sounded concerned and apologetic and said she would follow this up and get back to me but never did. Pub which is attached to accommodation had a lock in and the noise was awful until about 2am then other residents were banging doors and car alarms going off. Possible the worst stay I have ever had.
All of the above plus poor customer service post stay
Nice rooms. Fairly large, clean, nice shower. Couldn't check in early but we were kindly allowed to collect the keys early which allowed us to leave our luggage in the car and head off to a wedding without worry.
A pleasant surprise of a place to stay. Comfortable, good sized room right in the village centre.
The only minor detail was that the hairdryer in the room wasn't working and one of the spotlights was out in the bathroom.
