Terrible Experience – Not Recommended
Pros:

Our stay at Mysore Country Retreat, Mysore was extremely disappointing and one of the worst hotel experiences we have had [25-26 Jan 2026].

During the dinner buffet on 25th January, we were shocked to find a cockroach in the pulao that was served to us. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hygiene and food safety standards of the hotel. Even worse, when we brought it to the staff’s attention, there was no proper apology or ownership. Instead, they tried to justify it by saying the insect “must have flown into the food,” which shows a complete lack of accountability.

The overall cleanliness was equally poor. There was a foul smell near the lifts on multiple floors, and we even noticed cockroaches roaming around the kitchen/dining area floor, which was truly pathetic.

Housekeeping service was horrible. We requested just two extra pillows, and despite calling five times, it took nearly three hours for them to deliver them.

To add to the inconvenience, the pool in our room was not working, and multiple staff members had to enter our room repeatedly for short intervals while our family was inside, which was highly uncomfortable and poorly managed.

The dining area management was chaotic. There was no coordination in table allotment — guests were left to figure out seating on their own. We even saw a small family being made to sit at a table meant for six, reflecting the lack of basic hospitality.

While the room itself was decent, the overall experience was terrible, unhygienic, and poorly managed. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid this property.

We are happy.
Pros:

It is a good hotel near and clean. Joginder and Mayuri in the resturant were courteous and helpful. They have taken good care of us. Food and service are quite satisfactory.

Horrible hotel don't waste your money
Pros:

Do not book this hotel. Crazy staffs , slow service, key card not worked, wash basin not worked properly, AC not worked, offered table fan as alternative. Big thums down from my side. I would love to rate negative if possible.
