We were evacuated from the wildfire in Summerland on August 7/2026– as we were driving I was calling places and I was having no luck finding a place for my guy, myself and a 4 year old. I called the Fairfield Marriott in Vernon and explained my situation and the lady on the phone said they had one room available and it was a cancellation so it was ours. I must say that we got outstanding service from them, and nothing but kindness and compassion. So good to see in times of crisis. Thank you so much for your hospitality ❤️
Kiva että perusaamiainen kuului hintaan. Uima-allas ja lämminvesiallas kivoja. Hyvä äänieristys. Lyhyt kävelymatka isoon ruokakauppaan ja ravintoloihin. Ajomatkan päässä rantoja. Henkilökunta mukavaa, saimme pyydettäessä myöhäisemmän uloskirjautumisen.
Majoitukseen ei oikeasti mahtunutkaan 5 ihmistä, yksi joutui nukkumaan lattialla ilman patjaa. Isoin huone oli siis oikeasti 4 hengelle. Jääkaapissa oli riisiä tullessamme. Aamiainen syötiin kertakäyttöastioista - kamalasti jätettä eikä kierrätystä lainkaan. Sijainti melko karu.

Beim zugeteilten Zimmer stand direkt vor unserem Fenster ein riesiger Kompressor für die Hotel-Klimaanlage, was ein permanentes relativ lautes Brummen zur Folge hatte.
Auf Anfrage hin, konnten wir das Zimmer jedoch ohne Probleme wechseln.
Upon check-in with my family, we arrived to a dirty room. The carpet had very obviously not been vacuumed. Doritos, almonds, and hair were scattered throughout the corners. I immediately reported to the front desk that I didn’t think our room was quite ready for guests. Instead of being offered to transfer rooms the front desk advised they would come up and vacuum while we went out for dinner. Awkward, but I agreed. We arrived back and it was better but still not great. Hopped in the shower to find the amenities completely empty. Had to call down to the front desk to ask for shampoo. Tried to settle the kids in for a movie and the TV wasn’t working. All of this was brought to the attention of the front desk, and they sincerely apologized, but it never went beyond an apology. All of these were small inconveniences but they did put a damper on our fun family vacation in the hotel. I will probably not stay here again.
A warning to anyone planning on staying at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Vernon:
I booked a rate for this hotel through the Marriott app. A month later I was contacted by this hotel to inform me that this rate would not be honoured, and instead changed the rate on my reservation to more than double the original rate. I reached out to Marriott Customer Care, and have currently been promised a response 4 times, and never received one. I am being forced to cancel this reservation due to poor customer service for the first time in over a decade of Marriott loyalty (Current Titanium member, lifetime platinum member)

Breakfast was Standard.
Liked the location, parking, breakfast and convenience.
Bathroom fan didn’t work, when toilet was flushed there was a loud gurgling sound in the bath tub drain.
