The rooms were very nice and the staff was great. They were able to answer all their questions and even though we had a little problem with the television, they jumped right on it and had it fixed in no time.
The breakfast wasn’t bad, but I definitely would’ve liked a few gluten-free options
Très bien situé! Près de la montagne de ski Silvertar et de nombreux restaurants à proximoité. Bon petit déjeuner
A part le café que nous avons trouvé fade, tout était très bien.
Update: I finally got back the money that they wrongly charged my credit card. All it took was one week’s worth of effort, hours on the phone with the hotel, the head office and others. Threats of filing a complaint with the head office (which was a total waste of time as they basically said that the Fairfield Vernon would investigate itself), calling Visa and asking for a chargeback, and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau seems to have finally woken them up.
Still, zero communication from the hotel manager Ashley. No apology, no admitting a mistake- nothing.
Considering this is a Marriott Fairfield hotel, it is an absolute joke and you do not want to stay here if this is how the management of this hotel behaves.
I stay at Fairfield Inn locations whenever possible- particularly the Penticton and sometimes Kelowna location. I very much enjoy this hotel brand.
I have an upcoming trip to the Okanagan this spring and booked a one night stay at the Vernon Fairfield. I have since canceled it.
Earlier this week I rebooked my room (fully refundable as I paid a higher rate) to a better one and even though I chose the refundable “pay when checking in” option a preauthorization appeared on my card. For an entire day I tried calling the hotel with no answer and no ability to leave a voicemail. The preauthorization is now a charge on my credit card.
I called back the hotel today (4 days later) and was told their phones had been out of service until just this morning. I asked about the charge on my credit card, and unlike other charges which show I have booked through a third party (hotels.com) this charge was from Fairfield Vernon.
After some discussion with someone at the front desk, it seems that the hotel erroneously charged several guests credit cards (for future stays). I was told that the manager "was working on it".
SHAME ON YOU for not calling the clients that you improperly charged rather than making them chase you for reimbursement.
What do you think goes through a guest's mind when they get charged for something they shouldn't have been charged for, and then when they try to call you to resolve it, they can't ever get through?
This entire experience falls incredibly short of the professionalism that I am used to when staying at Fairfield properties
I have canceled my reservation and I will EVER stay at this particular property in the future.
The cost of hotels in this province is a JOKE, and if I am going to be paying the hundreds of dollars per night that I am paying to stay at a Fairfield, the very least they can do is respect my continued business and also respect their clients enough to get ahead of a problem and contact the guest rather than making that guest chase them.
VERY poor management. Everyone has problems at times, but you completely dropped the ball on how you handled this. And the stupid thing is, I NEVER book a hotel without reading reviews. I didn't read the reviews for this Fairfield location, and they are HORRIBLE. Unsanitary conditions at hotel, history of overcharging guests, safety and drug issues. And the worst part? No responses from management which shows they clearly do not care.
Sleep in your car before you stay here. You'll be better off.
Property was clean and good location.
Our room was located next to the heat pumps do some noise.
adequate breakfast, variety, staff courteous,
carpet had not been cleaned in a long time , many stains
The breakfast was not good but the coffee was good
The sausages were gross the hashbrowns were cold there was no bread for toast
the bed in our room sagged towards the middle and the pillows were terrible. Breakfast was not bad but the hot sausage and potatoes went in the garbage.
Jacuzzi was not working at all, for $200/night stay it’s completely not worth it, rooms are like motel, breakfast was way better when they first opened. Now it’s just money grab.
Iam expecting functional utility, shower head was horrible, definitely 1star.
The breakfast was not good.
Breakfast was great the pool was fantastic. We stayed on the long weekend so it was a bit noisy above us. Overall good stay.
The upstairs room was loud.
Hôtel propre en général, chambre correcte, wifi appréciable pour le travail
Lit très mou et qui renfonce, oreillers avec taches douteuses, rideaux déchirés dans ma chambre. Déjeuner très ordinaire.
The location was good.
Not many options for breakfast, only one waffle maker for all guests so have to wait a long time. Other prepared breakfast items were not fully cooked through and were cold. Our bathroom was not cleaned properly. The rooms were way too warm and we were not able to adjust the temperature or even open the window enough to cool it off. For the amount of money spent per night, I expected the breakfast to be better and the room to have A/C
How close it was to all amenities.
Fan in bathroom ran continuously and was hard to sleep.
Great location and hotel has the pool and waterslide. Staff very friendly .
Temp in room registered 70 F but blew cold air throughout the night. The bedding was too thin . We were freezing the whole night we had to wear our coats to bed ! Also not pet friendly yet hall and suite carpets stained. Some trim in room ripped off . Hair in sink. Tissue box empty. Four coffee pods only two coffee condiments no tea. We were a family of four and booked suite in Oct for Dec. Family member is 90 yrs old with mobility issues and I stated that and requested a suite close to elevator . We were given a suite at the very end of hall . A long walk for a 90 yr old. Breakfast ran out of fresh fruit and yoghurt. Sausages were blue and wet. Bagels were stale and hard . My Boston terrier had to stay in car overnight in -9 temp . So ridiculous considering all the stains ! Never again and I will not recommend this Vernon hotel.
