Montcalm Brewery Townhouse

Tried to arrange room service, not a single phone in the room worked.
The décor is dated. The glass wall into the bathroom certainly isn't for everyone!
Bed was quite uncomfortable - felt like a very old mattress with little support left in it.
Certain things in the room were, in my opinion, quite grubby - seals around the bath, there was dust all over the volume dial in the bathroom, there was a stain on the carpet. Just things you really don't expect in what is meant to be a 5* hotel.
Shower pressure is very poor. Also, There were no bathrobes in my room, although it is outlined in the description that all rooms have robes.
Staff seem poorly trained.
As the cherry on top, I have been unable to get my Pre-Auth £50 back as of yet, so I've also been overcharged for a severely substandard experience.

Cold water under shower

De eerste dag hadden we geen warm water voor het douchen. Ze zouden dat regelen terwijl wij de stad aan het bezichtigen waren, maar ‘s avonds toen we terug kwamen was het probleem niet opgelost. We hebben toen zelf om een andere kamer gevraagd. ‘s nachts was er veel geluidsoverlast. Ze waren kennelijk aan het werk op de binnenplaats.

First room we were given had a musty/damp smell, it also didn't have hot water for a shower or a bath. There was a window separating the bathroom and bedroom, which was o ly "blocked" by an old frayed roller blind. We were given another, which turned out to be fine.
Furniture/furnishings in need of updating.
Our first afternoon there was a fire alarm. We followed the signage to the nearest fire door, only to find it was padlocked shut. Huge health and safety issue and very alarming, (excuse the pun). We did report it, however not sure if it was acted upon.

Room was a walk to main building and furniture in room old.

Drains in bathroom sink had a bad smell and had to queue up for breakfast

Do colchão e travesseiros. Colchão exigindo troca. Tbem uma experiência ruim de quebra do ar condicionado no auge de um pico de calor muito mal conduzida pela equipe.

Bathroom spacious with nice shower but nowhere to put clothes, etc. More hooks/shelves required.

Das Frühstück war das schlimmste, was wir je erlebt haben. Eine halbe Stunde Schlange stehen, bis man einen Platz zugewiesen bekommen hat. 2 Kaffeeautomaten für 100 Leute und nur ein Durchlauftoaster. Tassen und Teller fehlten ständig. Wen man richtig essen will, reichen anderthalb Stunde nicht. Das sind grundlegende Dinge , die gar nicht funktionieren. Die Managementfehler kann auch das bemühte Personal nicht ausgleichen. Das Zimmer war extrem warm und in der Nacht nicht abzukühlen. Das Minidachfenster konnte man nur einen Spalt breit öffnen und die Klimaanlage hatte überhaupt keine Kraft. Am letzten Tag fand man es nicht mehr nötig, Wasser aufs Zimmer zu stellen.
