Afrique Hotel Douala Airport

Stayed overnight. No water I couldn't wash myself, a/c bearly working, no internet connection, no bar to have a coffe fresh water, no restaurant to have a meal, staff barely talking at all in any language....realy sad atmosphere. I use to stay in this hotel and it was a decent place totally opposit of what is now.

Not a good place for staying

... if you need an overnight bed close to the aeroport, here it is. On-line reseravtion, car was there to meet me, car on time to take me back, no bed bugs, decent pice, hot water, clean sheets. Here it is.

Waaaay overpriced. Got a nicer room with friendlier staff in a better neighborhood for one quarter the price.

Nice clean, friendly staff. Didn't really appreciate the cleanliness because my bed was left unmade the next day and couldn't provide a fresh sheet or towels. But overall this hotel is ideal for short stay especially in douala. Their AC unit is just fantastic

Very nice staff, especially Donald (he's the star). Waitresses don't always have a big food selection, but they're very nice about it. The AM croissants are 5-Star. Elevator is temperamental, only worked a day or 2 in the 7-day stay. Rooms are clean, well-maintained. Restaurant isn't quick, but they work hard, and the food is usually good (French heritage here). Neighborhood is fairly rough, but hotel security is good. It's the closest good hotel to the airport.

Old hotel, needs renovation, but the location is good for short stays, as it is close to the airport. Friendly, helpful staff compansates for all the other things missing :)

the Hotel is a good and have shuttle bus from airport-hotel-airport, the staff very friendly and helpful, the only problem they have is the electricity is going everyday and sometimes four times if you are working in internet and not saved it yor lost all your work.

Ok place for a business traveller. Nothing special. Nothing particularly bad. Expensive for the standards.

They rent the conference room at night for re-creational activities.
This is VERY LOUD NOISE and LOUD MUSIC all the night until morning!
It is impossible to sleep well.
This is really CRAZY !

The staff at Afrique Hotel (AH) was very very helpful and reliable. I arrived at 12 midnight in Douala (was my first time in the country) and AH provided prompt service to and from the airport as needed, the buffet in the morning was basic (which was fine by me), the room was clean and I felt safe. My only criticism would be for the staff to stock the refrigerator with more beverages besides a lonely can of red bulls and a suspect bottle of ginger beer. Despite this overall, I would certainly recommend AH to anyone planning a trip to Douala and I would certainty stay there again,

I stayed for just one night at Afrique Hotel, Douala and it is a very pleasant experience. I was picked up from the airport and also dropped off at 4am to catch an early morning flight. The room and facilities were neat and decent.The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating.I will not hesistate to recommend the hotel to others.

Très mauvaise impression

Hotel in der Nähe des Flughafens. Shuttle Service war sehr gut. Das Zimmer entsprach nicht meinen Erwartungen. Das Frühstück war Durchschnitt. Die Hilfsbereitschaft des Pesonals war sehr gut.

Sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Empfang, sauberes Zimmer, gutes Frühstück, tolle Stadtbesichtigung für uns mit dem Hotelbus und geschichts- und stadtkundiger Begleitung durch den Hotelmanager, tolles Jubiläumsfest des Hotels im Innenhof, schöner Swimmingpool in angenehmen Ambiente. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Very friendly service. Help was available at everytime. Though not very big for its category my double standard room was still very comfortable. The air conditioner was very effective. The double bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast very much. The internet was a problem, though I was assured that that would be looked after immediately. Contrary to the advertisement on the internet the reception of the WLAN was only possible in the main hall and not in my room which was situated on the 3rd floor. It wasn't very comfortable having to carry my laptop down in to the open in order to receive the WLAN. However, when I talked to the reception about this I was assured that that problem would eventually be looked in to. I look forward to my next stop at the same hotel when I next visit Douala because I felt very welcome there! I very much appreciated the guarded private parkings within the hotel walls.
