Gittiğimiz gün hava gök gürültülü sağanak yağışlıydı , gündüz hava 16 dereceydi , gece daha da soğuktu. Bize ek binada bir oda verdiler. Oda buz gibiydi. Tesise söylediğimizde “dün hava 30 dereceydi yapacak bir şey yok, bugün de hava gayet sıcak dediler.” Lobide bulunan uzun boylu zayıf sarışın görevli dalga geçerek gülerek konuştu bu havada üşünülür mü diye resmen suratında aşağılar bir ifade vardı, ısrarla üşüdüğümüzü söyledik ve wifi de çekmiyordu. Wifi için ise fırtınadan kaynaklı sinyallerde sorun olduğunu söylediler. Hem hava sıcak diyorlar , hem fırtına diyorlar yalanları çelişiyordu. Hemen yanında bulunan pizzacıya da gittiğimizde orda wifi gayet güzeldi. Yani wifi konusunda da yalan söylediler. Ek binada olduğumuz için büyük ihtimalle wifi yetersizdi. Ayrıca oda eski bakımsız ve ÖRÜMCEK AĞLARIYLA doluydu. Normalde 2 gece için rezervasyon yaptırmıştık. Hiç bir isteğimizi karşılayamadıkları, odanın pis olması ve tavırları hoşumuza gitmediği için bir geceyi iptal etmek istedik . Yer bulabilsek o gün bile kalmak istemiyorduk. Hem çok pahalı hem berbat bir oteldi. Biz sonraki geceyi iptal etmek istediğimizde erkek olan görevli hava sıcak siz üşüyorsanız yapacak bir şey yok diye dalga geçti. Oda soğuk duş bile alamadık dediğimde sıcak su var duş alın deyip güldü. Lobi ana binadaydı ve sıcacıktı . Burası sıcak bizim oda soğuk dediğimde yine güldüler . Burada 7 odada kalan misafirler üşümüyor dediler . Burası sıcak . Bizim ek bina soğuk dedik. Israrla iptal etmek istediğimizi söylediğimizde kabul etmediler fakat başka müşteriler de olduğu için sorun çıkmasın diye yaşlı, beyaz kısa saçlı bi bayan da geldi , tamam yarın iptal edip para iadesi yaparız deyip bizi gönderdiler. Biz gece soğuktan uyuyamadık ve hiç umurlarında olmadı. Ertesi sabah eşyalarımızı toplayıp lobiye indik . Yaşlı olan kadın elime 6 Euro şehir vergisi verdi. Oda ücretini nasıl iade edeceksiniz dediğimde etmeyeceğiz dedi .

We had a beautiful outside patio, the location was great for getting around Varenna, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were nice.

Cons:

When the ferries are crowded, it's challenging navigating the hotel entry. This was minor.

Magical stay -- wpuld definitely go back! Titti was wonderful!
Pros:

Terrific hotel, beautiful location, very good breakfast, very large, comfortable room with wonderful view. Best thing about the hotel was the manager/owner, Titti. She was incredibly helpful and supportive, and helped make our stay magical.

Inte världens modernaste hotell men läget är guld värt i vackra Varenna för en båttur på Comosjön
Pros:

Perfekt läge vid båtterminalen vid Comosjön och nära till tåg. Inte världens modernaste rum men det var rymligt och det finns butiker runt omkring där man kan handla. Svårt att tänka mig ett bättre läge.

Our stay at Hotel Olivedo was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. From the moment we arrived, we felt as though we had stepped back into the elegance and charm of old-world Italy. This is not a modern chain hotel—it is a place with history, character, and soul.

What makes Hotel Olivedo especially unique is that it has remained in the same family for generations. That legacy is evident in every detail, from the warm hospitality to the care taken in preserving the hotel's timeless beauty.

Ti Ti, in particular, made us feel more like welcomed guests than tourists. Her kindness, warmth, and attention to detail were exceptional. She went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and even coordinated a driver for our return trip to Milan Airport, making our departure stress-free and seamless. Her personal attention exemplified the genuine hospitality that makes this hotel so special.

The hotel is full of old-world charm, with beautiful architecture, classic furnishings, and an atmosphere that captures the romance of a bygone era. At the same time, it is impeccably maintained, comfortable, and inviting.

The location is outstanding. Our room had spectacular views of the lake and mountains. Varenna is absolutely enchanting. Whether strolling through the village, relaxing by the water, or simply gazing across the lake, every moment felt magical. It is difficult to imagine a more beautiful setting.

Breakfast each morning was delicious and provided the perfect start to the day with a wonderful assortment of Italian pastries, fruits, meats, and cheeses with other items made to order.

Hotel Olivedo offers something increasingly rare: an authentic Italian experience rooted in tradition, family, and hospitality. We left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for this special place.

We would definitely return to Hotel Olivedo and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Varenna and Lake Como. It was excellent in every way and an unforgettable part of our Italian adventure.

Excellent location! Very friendly and helpful staff! Great proximity to Varenna train station

Cons:

A last minute change of plans necessitated a hotel near the Varenna train station, so we felt we were lucky to find this. With that said, the only room available was an "attic" room. Despite a timed room air conditioner, it was pretty stuffy and the instructions said not to open windows. Again - it was understandable given the last minute reservation that this would be the only room available. Everything else was satisfactory!

Pros:

The warm welcome on our arrival. The host was so friendly and caring. The hotel is close to the station and across from all the ferries so that one can easily hop on late in the evening for dinner in Bellagio or Mennagio. The room was spacious clean with comfy beds. The breakfast was great! And restaurants and the quaint little town all within walking distance. The view of Lake Como from hotel is stunning. I will certainly be back. Thank you!

Excellent Hotel in Varenna
Pros:

The location was very convenient but in the busy area right behind the ferry. We were concerned that we would be bothered by noise but we were not. Our room in the annex had a wonderful view and was very quiet and comfortable.

Cons:

We have no complaints. The breakfast was very good with outside tables.
