The Westin Chennai Velachery

At check-in, a security deposit was supposed to be pre-authorized on my credit card. Instead, the hotel charged the amount directly, which is a serious mistake. As a result, at check-out my card was declined due to exceeding the limit, and I was asked to pay again.

After a long and difficult discussion, the staff acknowledged their error and assured me that a refund of the overcharged amount would be processed within 2 to 3 weeks. It has now been over 6 weeks, and I still haven’t received anything.

What’s even worse is the follow-up:

repeated calls with no resolution
being constantly told to call back later
a duty manager left me waiting on the phone for nearly 10 minutes before hanging up
and the same number no longer answers

This is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of accountability and professionalism is shocking.

I strongly do not recommend this hotel until this issue is properly resolved.

Stayed here for an extended period and the staff was really warm and hospitable, especially Mr. Ajay , Mr. Gokul and Ms.Nandini who ensured a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Stayed for 12 days.
The staff and the amenities are fantastic.
Housekeeping were amazing, the room was always fresh and clean.
All the restaurants had great food choices.
Every morning I was greeted at breakfast with a cup of filtered coffee by the wonderful Samantak.

We had an excellent stay at Westin Velachery. The housekeeping staff, Hariharan, took exceptional care of our family throughout our visit. The restaurant team was attentive, accommodating special requests, and consistently sought feedback. The food, service, and room cleanliness were all outstanding.

Everything was fine, but the check-in process took longer than expected.I had a wonderful stay. The room was clean, staff was very polite, and service was excellent.My daughter loved the towel art that was kept in the room.Thanks to aditya & gokul for taking care of my room.

The best part was the behaviour of all employees
Especially Ms.Mallika. Her behaviour was exceptionally good. Then I met a shop floor boy, who was again very courteous. Later I met a small girl during breakfast, even she was very sweet. Felt very happy to see everyone behaving too good. I got a drop to the nearby Mall as well, which I was not expecting: Also I got two packed breakfast as I had to travel to Pondicherry early in the morning. I used to travel and stay in good hotels. Every time early morning packed breakfast gets ready late, but here, even that was a timely one:

The location and ambience were excellent.

I love my stays at Westin Chennai. I love the pool, SPA and the steam room. Surya from travel desk is also very cooperative and helpful. Mahfooz from housekeeping creates beautiful towel art.

Have had a very nice experience at the Westin in Chennai. The staff are all very attentive and always greet meet with a warm smile and have been very attentive to my requests. Jasmine, Ahkil, and Sanjay have each provided wonderful service and have always made me feel at home.

Breakfast was good but not too many choices for a vegetarian

Absolutely amazing service. Lovely staff,from checking in to pool side. Even the Lounge was great and Chef Karthik made the dishes which was world class, the blend of the local cuisine and with other ingredients, he turned those meals into 1 of the best dishes I have had. And now at breakfast, he made so many classics dishes that its just so hard to resist. And the gentlemen Mr Anful, what an amazing guy, top customer service with great attitude and attention to detail service. He has bright future.

Karthik Chef made a perfect Masala Peanut Dosa. It was mouth watering. This Chef is extremely skilled and professional, making it a privilege to eat his food
