Comfort
Secured and clean
Room was reasonably quiet.
The cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom. There was hair in the shower area. Not one hair but all over. There was pubic hair at the toilet. This was on arrival at our room so it obviously wasn’t cleaned from the previous occupant. If the bathroom was dirty then who knows about the rest of the room.
The hotel is very nice and awesome stacc

no issues. convenient to hospitals. free shuttle for rides within 2mi radius on the half hour requiring 24h notice but this is flexible.
I’ve been staying at the Courtyard Marriott for four weeks, while my mom has been in the UH hospital, and I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The staff has been incredibly helpful, supportive, and accommodating during a very stressful time for our family. They’ve gone above and beyond with anything we’ve needed and have been extremely understanding of the situation.
The housekeeping team is amazing! Everything has been spotless, and it has made such a difference coming “home” to a clean, comfortable room each night. It has been so nice to be able to stay so close and not have to worry about the small things.
A special shoutout to Christian at the front desk. He is truly top-notch! His kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help made a huge impact. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you have a loved one at UH and need a dependable, caring, and convenient place to stay.
I had a confirmed reservation at the Courtyard by Marriott near Cleveland Clinic, but upon arrival, I was denied my room because I asked to speak with a manager about my Explorers rate on a second room that I had booked also. The manager at the front desk refused to talk to me, and told me to go elsewhere. Only after visible frustration was I finally given the same room I had already booked two months earlier. This experience was very humiliating and distressing, especially, after driving 3 and half hours from Detroit with with my wife for an evaluation for a double lung transplant at Cleveland Clinic at 7:45 the next morning. Management later dismissed my concerns, focusing on policy rather than the mistreatment itself. Very disappointed, and I would not recommend at all!
Very disappointed in the way my finance was treated upon returning to Cleveland from a 5 hour red eye from California at 7am. He lives in Toledo and needed to stay a few hours to nap to ensure he doesn’t fall asleep on the road. I called in advance to tell them he would be arriving early however when he arrived, they told him that although they had rooms available now, he had to wait until 3pm to check in. He inquired if he could check in early and check out by noon (yesterday’s date) and was told the fee would be 4 times the rate we booked for for only 5 hours. He had to sleep in his car instead. I would not recommend a hotel that doesn’t want to accommodate its guests because that’s not the Marriott hotel standard which says “wonderful hospitality, always”. We do not recommend booking here for that reason.
If you are a Bonvoy Elite or other high volume status, I strongly recommend that you make your reservation somewhere else. The current management team strictly enforces local rules around making a room cancellation under 24 hours prior to check in. They will charge you FULL price for a cancellation and you have to waste time making several phone calls to Bonvoy to get documentation for an expense report. Few in the off-shore customer service office seem to understand that you can’t put $179.99 for a hotel on an expense report without documentation. They keep referring you back to the hotel, who can’t generate the receipt either. But that’s another issue unto itself…adding salt to the wound!
The cancellation fee will not appear on your Bonvoy app in the “receipts” area.
When you reach out to Bonvoy they will refer you back to the hotel as each location has local authority on enforcing policies. YOU will NOT be granted an exception as a frequent traveler if your plans change at Courtyard University Circle.
While in principle, the “We treat all our guests the same when we enforce our policies” may be noble - it is not practical for heavy business travelers whose plans can change in an instant with less than 24 hours notice prior to check in.
In twenty plus years of business travel, and a range of 75-125 nights per year on the road, I can be incredibly loyal to the locations that treat me like a welcome family member. You get to know the front desk team, restaurant servers, and even the housekeepers. You return to a location again and again because they understand how hard it is to be on the road and away from family and recognize a small favor (like waiving a cancelation fee, or awarding points for dollars spent on an empty room, or allowing you to use the cancellation fee as a credit for a subsequent reservation) goes a long way with a frequent traveler. It is literally the first and ONLY time a location didn’t choose one of these three options
To simply charge the $179.99 and treat your frequent travelers like a kid being singled out in a class of naughty second graders, is Penny wise and pound foolish for this location.
I know I will not go back. I hope you won’t go at all.
Convenient location
Great staff!
No upgrade for elite platinum
No breakfast amenity
They don’t clean the rooms during multi day stays
Impossible to ask for more supplies and towels from housekeeping - when they finally came they were so rude
There was hair in the shower and around the toilet. Room didn’t feel as clean as previous stays.
