Hyatt Place Detroit/Novi

The location. We stayed here for my daughter’s cheerleading competition and it’s attached to the venue.

This Hyatt Place is attached to a regional convention center in Novi. That convention center is the primary reason to stay here.

The hotel itself is fairly typical of newer Hyatt Place properties. It is noticeably better than the Hyatt Place near Novi’s border with Livonia — avoid the mistake of booking that one.

My room was clean and comfortable. As I only stayed one night, I cannot comment on daily housekeeping service and whether it's provided.

Staff were polite, though as a Hyatt Globalist I did not receive any recognition.

One area where this property both stands out and fails is food and beverage. While it features the standard limited Placery bar, the bar remains open throughout the day during conventions and other big events at the convention center. That makes it a convenient spot to meet with a colleague or entertain a client away from the hustle and bustle of the convention. In addition, the pantry has a few better than average grab-and-go options, including caesar salads and yogurt parfaits.

The main drawback is the lack of a more substantial dining option. While the Placery bar concept is standard for the Hyatt Place brand, some Hyatt Place properties feature a real bar and restaurant. That absence is an issue because the nearest "nice" restaurants are about 10 to 15 minutes away. Even the wine offering at the bar is limited to Canvas, the very cheap and rather bad Hyatt house wine brand. Again, you have customers here for conventions that are traveling on expense accounts. They should have a second brand of wine that's better and more premium.

Overall, I would consider staying here again, depending on rates and whether I needed to be at the convention center.

Cleanliness, friendly staff

The property was clean, great breakfast, restaurant and lounge.

The hotel overall was always pleasant to stay. This time I was very pleased with the warmth and willingness to help of the front desk staff. We will choose to stay here again next time for a trip to this area.

Terrible stay. Water didn’t work in the morning. Was not able to use bathroom or take a shower. No solution was offered by the hotel, no compensation. Also, I called to make sure they had an EV charger prior to our stay, which they confirmed. When I arrived the charger was not working. I inquired at the front desk and they said “ that thing hasn’t worked in forever”. They never mentioned this when I called. No offer for compensation or even an apology for the extreme inconvenience.

I recently attended a Destination Michigan event here and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our event and stay. Breakfast was excellent! The breakfast burrito bar was awesome! The room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable- the bed made for a great night’s sleep. Our group was welcomed with sweet treats in the rooms upon arrival, which was such a nice and thoughtful touch. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience, and I would highly recommend to anyone, especially to businesses looking to host an off-site/overnight event there! It is very convenient!

Room only cleaned once during a 4 night stay. Too expensive for the quality. Nice room, clean, comfortable bed.

This hotel and its staff is consistently good. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable furniture. The beds are sumptuous and sleep is always great. Breakfast is varied, hot, and a good start to the day. The Staff is always cheerful and helpful. I stay multiple nights each year in this property and am happy to do so.

This was my first time staying at the Hyatt in years. When walking into the hotel the atmosphere was calm and inviting. The staff greeted me with a professional attitude. I liked how you to accessed your floor with your room key on the elevator. That safety measured reassured me that my family was safe at all cost by the hotel. Our room was perfect overall, the cleanness of the room was top of the line compared to other hotels i have been at recently. Our stay was for a Cheerleading Competition which was so convent then having to travel back and fourth during the snow storm. I would like Thank the Hyatt for a wonderful experience.

I stay away from the pool. Our kids had a horrible rash and the pool had a huge whole where the pool floor was breaking and was sharp
