A comfortable and welcoming hotel.
Pros:

The location is great. Staff are very friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. Food in the restaurant is very good. The room is well equipped and the bed is extremely comfortable. We believe that the owner, Dennis, is fairly new to the hotel business and he is very keen to get things right for his guests. When we asked for something which wasn't provided he offered to obtain the item if we couldn't get one for ourselves and said he will look into providing them for guests in the future. We had a lovely stay in Venray which is a great place to relax. We were visiting friends and we will return to the Square Boutique Hotel next time we visit.

Fijn verblijf
Pros:

Mooi hotel in een historisch pand. Erg vriendelijk personeel, hotel is goed bereikbaar, mooie ruime kamer en prima bed. Persoonlijke aandacht bij het ontbijt.

Aangenaam verblijven in het centrum van Venray
Pros:

Wederom een aangenaam verblijf in Square: ruime hotelkamer, heerlijk bed en uitstekende badkamer. De (nieuwe) gastheer is buitengewoon attent en behulpzaam. Het hotel ligt op een prachtige locatie in het centrum van Venray.

Cons:

Het ontbijt was ietwat karig met enkel wat broodjes en beleg (en uiteraard (verse) sap en koffie/thee of melk). Ik miste de yoghurt of kwark met (verse) vruchten en wat kleine lekkernijen.

Ik was er nog niet eerder geweest maar de nieuwe eigenaar Sieb is in ieder geval een aardige en behulpzame gast. Verder een mooie kamer met een goed bed. Helemaal top.

2 sterren omdat de kamer er goed uit zag en het bed heerlijk was, zonder ontbijt vertrokken
Pros:

Stadshotel op een leuke plek midden in het centrum van Venray. (Gratis) parkeren kan niet voor de deur, maar iets verderop, een paar minuten lopen. De kamer is mooi en heeft voldoende ruimte. Een heerlijk bed en fijn bureau. De TV hangt aan een beugel die je kunt draaien. Prima. Ook de badkamer ziet er netjes uit, alles splinternieuw.

Cons:

Helaas werkte de verwarming van de badkamer niet, maar door de deur naar de kamer open te zetten werd het wat aangenamer. Er is een koffieapparaat en waterkoker aanwezig, maar mij lukte het niet om koffie te zetten: het apparaat vermorzelde de cups. In de brasserie op de begane grond kun je dineren. Persoonlijk vond ik het een restaurant zonder ziel. Alsof er gewoon wat “hotel chique” tafeltjes en stoeltjes in een verder leeg café waren gezet. Kwaliteit van het eten was redelijk: soep was heerlijk, de pokebowl vond ik te veel rijst. De grootste verrassing kwam de andere dag: de (splinternieuwe) thermostatische douchekraan gaf alleen heet of koud water. Het was niet fatsoenlijk regelbaar. Toen ik om 7.20 u. beneden kwam voor het ontbijt stonden er her en der wat bordjes op tafel, het licht en de muziek aan, maar verder niemand te bekennen en geen spoor van iets wat op ontbijt leek. Na een kwartier nogmaals een poging gedaan, maar behalve een andere gast die de eigenaar probeerde te bellen, en geen gehoor kreeg, was alles nog exact hetzelfde. Toen ben ik maar zonder ontbijt vertrokken.
