Grand Hotel Gulsoy

Grand Hotel Gulsoy is a good hotel, that we rely on every time we come to Istanbul. Prices are very reasonable for what they offer - comfort, cozyness, safety and a good breakfast :).

Unfortunately, our experience with this hotel was extremely negative.

We had a reservation for two rooms, but we were forced to cancel due to a death in the family—an unexpected and very difficult situation that no one can ever be prepared for. The hotel was informed in advance, on January 7th, while the check-in was scheduled only for January 9th at 2:00 PM, meaning there was more than enough time to find a reasonable solution.

Despite this, and despite the fact that Booking.com also contacted the hotel on our behalf, the hotel refused to show any understanding, flexibility, or compassion. No solution was offered—no refund, no voucher, and no change of dates—only a cold reference to rigid policies.

We understand that we did not have cancellation insurance, but no one plans a death in the family. In moments like these, one expects at least basic humanity and empathy, especially from a business that operates in the hospitality industry.

Because of this treatment, I cannot and will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Instead of support during one of the most difficult moments in life, we were met only with additional stress and disappointment.

Very sad and extremely unprofessional.

My experience with a family of 3 was amazing because we came to grand gulisoy hotel before and since that are hotel room was even better especially the staff was so kind and helpful with everything can’t wait to go again.

As usual, the hotel was my first option in Istanbul. Location is perfect and it is close to most areas which I am interested in. Public transportation is also walking distance. Thanks to Mr. Farouq and his assistants Mert, Merve, Melek and Gokhan.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had.

The hallways are humid and over 90°F.
The air conditioning is terrible. I set it as low as it would go and the room never got below 85° F. the first night.
When they made up the room, they left a window open, so the room was very hot the next night as well.
We left on the Do Not Disturb light and the electricity running all day and finally we were able to sleep the third night.

The buffet breakfast is terrible.

The rooftop restaurant is alright, but the service is especially slow because they are understaffed. The view from up there is terrific.

The service in the coffee bar is terrible.

I would not stay here under any circumstances.

We booked this hotel for our trip in Istanbul. The hotel is centrally located and near all the landmarks of the city (Grand Bazaar, Egyptian Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and much more). The rooms are clean and cosy, the roof top restaurant offers a good selection of food which are delicious, an indoor pool and experienced also a turkish bath. The reception manager Ilhami was very helpful, even when we asked for tickets for the match of Istanbul Besekeshir. Definately would visit this hotel on my next stay.

1.隔音很不好，在房間可以聽到對面房間小孩的哭聲、對話聲音
2.第一天廁所衛生紙整捲是濕的，第二天客房服務後一樣是給濕的衛生紙&用過的沐浴乳

優點
1.早餐很豐盛
2.交通方便，可從機場搭地鐵轉一次車抵達；步行也可到T1線去舊城區

Receptionists are not helpful, hardly listen or look at your face
WiFi off for a day and did not compensate

Excellent service staff very kind and helpful breakfast a lot of variety

The recepestionist are very desprespectful and unfriendly, they behave bad as the majority of turkish , to get into thé pool you have to buy a cap even if you have already pay 300€, thé breakfast IS so basic and poor dont desreverve 4*, and noises in thé room.i dont recommand

Metro en tram station in walkingdistance and a beautiful mosque across the street

Location was okay a bit far from everything. In general hotel was good, breakfast was okay. I was very disappointed with the gym it's not even a gym, weights were wrapped with celotape making it very unsafe. Swimming pool was great size but the shock surprise I was only allowed to use it till 5pm and after that 100$ charge. I will complain regards to this matter as this ruined my stay and was not stated anywhere in my booking. In general hotel was good and is okay to stay in.

El hotel en general bueno, pero. Elegi el hotel por la piscina pero resulto que tiene costo el ingreso despues de las 17:00 no pude meterme por esa razon, y el costo se me hacia elevado. El AC del cuarto no es suficiente para enfriarlo

This is a terrible hotel! Twice, they didn't even clean the room... They make fun of the customers by claiming that you touched a button! This is complete nonsense... A repetitive breakfast, the same thing every day! The juices are undrinkable... I strongly advise against this hotel. This is not an establishment like a 4-star... Unacceptable. I never recommend it

The room wasn’t as expected . I was let down . Service was very poor . I didn’t get what I paid for . It was a special visit and I was told lies after lies . I requested a nice desert didn’t even get that . Over all I wouldn’t visit again .

Worst hotel ever. Extremely unprofessional staff, very unhelpful, lazy and ill mannered. I’ve never witnessed such evil hotel management in my life. Rooms had the worst stench ever, beds were broken which gave everyone back aches. The single beds were like junior beds with horrendous mattresses. Bedding was dirty, towels were black soiled with dirt. When we asked for tissue hotel staff told us to use toilet tissue which they never replenished. Rooms were extremely small, old and dingy. Didn’t even have ample space to put suitcases. Staff were so rude and unprofessional that we had to bring the suitcases to the rooms ourselves when we checked in and when checking out we had to bring the suitcases out the hotel ourselves because staff refused to help us. Cleaners failed to service the rooms properly. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PUT TO USE IN A BETTER HOTEL. THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN!!!!!

Very very very disappointed with the room in this hotel let me tell you the bad things it included: Dirty bed sheets with stains, damaged walls with marks, expired coffee, leaks from the shower, tv doesn’t work, and broken unfixed smoke Alarm. When I saw these things I was utterly appalled and extremely disappointed there is no luxury and the room is a disgrace the staff aren’t to helpful aswell. If you are thinking about staying DONT STAY HERE!

Very poor towels quality, poor quality and variety of breakfast choices. The rest is good.
