Very enjoyable, good vfm. Would recommend
Pros:

Lovely inn, welcoming, clean. Good food menu. Nice bedroom. Great location

Cons:

The only comment I would make is that the room was hot. However, windows opened wide so that was good

Pros:

Friendly place in the centre of beautiful Barnard Castle. Lovely staff. Great bar and restaurant. Very good breakfast. Comfy bed.

Nice hotel in the centre of Barnard Castle
Pros:

The breakfast was really nice and we ate in the bar during the evening and the food was excellent. Good choice of teas, coffee and biscuits in the room. A nice touch was the takeaway cups and lids so we could make a drink and take it with us on our journey. All the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Cons:

Our room was off-site which might be an issue if the weather was poor.
Well appointed room but the pillows were not comfortable.

A comfortable, well-located hotel
Pros:

We liked the central location and free parking. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Our room was bright, well-decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was also very good.

Cons:

We stayed during a heatwave, and the top-floor room was uncomfortably hot. This was mitigated by a fan but there was no air conditioning. It would have been helpful to have had directions to the parking area in advance.

Well worth the money we paid, every member of staff we came a cross where very friendly and helpful.
Pros:

Very helpful and quick at answering our questions on early arrival due to attending wedding, beautifully decorated exceptionally clean, every thing looked brand new. Breakfast was exceptional everything cooked perfectly and great choice. Would definitely stay again .

Fantastic, super clean, great location!
Pros:

Spotlessly clean, great location. Watched the football on Saturday night with some of the staff, all were fantastic, really welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was really good too x

All we could have hoped for.
Pros:

The room was ready, room assignments were adjusted to accommodate us. The table for breakfast was set ready for us. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent place to stay
Pros:

Excellent location and a lovely place to stay. Family owned and a very popular, well-run Inn. Room and bathroom spotless. Plenty of parking nearby. Well worth a visit. Didn't eat there but judging how busy it was, the food must be very good.

A great value and highly recommended place to stay
Pros:

Delightful traditional pub which has been thoroughly modernised inside. We had a spacious, well-equipped and comfortable room with great facilities. Good value evening meal and superb breakfast. Secure storage for our bikes. Highly recommended.

Nothing to dislike.
