Cute little boutique hotel for a short stay in stone town
Pros:

This is a cute boutique hotel, no elevator, Stairs are steep! Its good for youngsters for the top floor, beautiful rooms just like the pictures. comfotable bed. you can feel sense of history preserved in the hotel. Staff are super nice

Uneinsichtige Hotelbetreiber und somit eine Abzocke und große Enttäuschung

Die Lage ist gut. Leider war alles andere eine herbe Enttäuschung und eine Abzocke

Cons:

Wir haben im Januar 3 Nächte im Zanzibar Palace, in Stone Town auf Sansibar, verbracht und haben die Signature Suite gebucht. Ein mit 8,9 Rating bewertetes 4-Sterne-Hotel. Leider war der Aufenthalt eine Katastrophe und die Leistung entsprach nicht der von uns gebuchten.
Die sogenannte "Signature Suite" befand sich im 3. Stock, welcher nur über extrem steile Treppen erreichbar war. Ein Lift ist prinzipiell nicht vorhanden. Ich bin 71 Jahre alt und eigentlich gut zu Fuß unterwegs, ebenso meine 63-jährige Frau. Dieses Treppenhaus jedoch konnten und wollten wir nur einmal bis in den 3. Stock hinaufsteigen, was uns über 10 Minuten Zeit gekostet hat.
Es gab keine Angaben bei der Buchung zu diesen Gegebenheiten. Das wäre ein ganz klares Ausschlusskriterium gewesen. Vor Ort wurde dann von uns versucht, die Buchung zu ändern, da diese Suite für uns einfach nicht infrage kam. Uns wurde dann ein wesentlich kleineres Doppelzimmer ohne Balkon, ohne Kühlschrank für unsere Medikamente oder andere, von der Suite versprochene, Vorzüge gegeben.
Da die Suite über € 450 gekostet hat, verlangte ich nach der Hotelbetreiberin und nach Aufklärung. Die Chefin meinte nur abweisend: "All rooms same price." Das ist eine so dreiste Form der Abzocke und ich bin nicht gewillt, diese so hinzunehmen. Ich verlange eine Refundierung von diesem Hotel von zumindest der Differenz der Kosten eines Doppelzimmers und den hohen Kosten der Suite. Selbst nach Rücksprache mit dem Booking.com Kundenservice weigerte sich das Hotel, eine Einigung zu erzielen.
Die Unterkunft wirkte allgemein wie ein heruntergekommenes Lagerhaus und keinem 4-Sterne-Hotel. Es roch modrig und ekelhaft und die Gegebenheiten wurden in keinster Weise klar und ersichtlich kommuniziert bzw. dargestellt.

Lugar ideal para alojarse a 10 minutos de Jambiani

Lugar fantastico para desconectar y estar tranquilos, bien comunicado con cualquier punto para visitar. Despues de un safari lo que queríamos era descansar y comer bien, sin lugar a dudas es el espacio ideal, Valentin y su esposa hicieron que nuestra estancia en el lugar fuera mágica, siempre pendientes de que nuestra experiencia fuera placentera, lo consiguieron y de que manera.
Mencion aparte para el restaurante, es increible lo bueno que estaba todo, cada plato terminado con detalle, con un sabor excelente y con buen vino. Nos encantó

Peu d'équipements, hôtel peu pratique et peu confortable.
Le côté traditionnel ne devrait en rien enlever le confort et la facilité (ex : pas d'ascenseur, pas de climatisation au petit-déjeuner, etc.)

Nice place for dinner, show up before 8pm

Lovely food, ambience and service. The avocado passion fruit combo juice is amazing. The fish mishikaki was great. The pumpkin soups are very tasty. We also had sambousa, banana fritters and bruschetta. Excellent evening

Old world charm and excellent location.
Pros:

The location which is on the edge of the Stone Town maze. The historic building with charming details. The staff went above and beyond especially Rodrick who helped solve my mobile phone problem. Jamila was also a delight.

Cons:

Not a complaint just a note that stairs to the rooms are quite steep so it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

If you want to live in the center of historical Stone Town where locals live, in authentic historical building and very place specific interior you do choose this hotel. We feel ourself like visiting friends - very pleasant and warm feelings. The restaurant in the hotel was one of the best in the city. Staff is very kind. Thank you for hospitality.

Pros:

We were so thoroughly impressed by this shabby chiq hotel. We were very well cared for- the owner is lovely and this is reflected in her excellent and kind staff . Nothing is too much trouble .
Yes there are lots of stairs but look where you are - it’s fantastic. A unique place in the world .
We were walked to and from a nearby restaurant in case we got lost . Where else would you get that ? Loved it and would go again if we were so lucky .
