Super zentrale Lage, sehr schönes Interior, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, Terrasse,
Frühstück war in Ordnung, Saft immer super, insgesamt nicht so abwechslungsreich
Bad experience overall from booking to checkout : difficult to reach out ver the phone, hidden charges, very noisy rooms, waiter disrespectful.
Nice antique small hotel.
Very polite and friendly staff.
Close to city centre
A charming hotel in the heart of Stone Town. I had a very spacious room and bathroom. Loved the fact that there was a full size shower and bathtub with his and hers sinks. I particularly appreciated the authentic Zanzibari decor and the quality and attention to detail regarding the design materials, especially the floor (hahaha, i do like a well done concrete floor).
I'd also like to thank Brenda who took the time to get our feedback on site specifically regarding the policy of more bottles of complimentary water. This wasn't the biggest issue however given the hot/humid climate of the country, this should be taken into consideration.
Would highly recommend!
Well situated in Stone town. Close to the airport. Very clean and well appointed furnishing. Beautiful rooms. Friendly staff. Beautiful rooftop restaurant with very good food.
We stayed in a standard room with king size bed. Paid USD120 / GBP89,
Good:
- Lovely house from the 1800’s sensitively and stylishly converted into a boutique hotel. Located in the heart of historic Stone Town with easy walking to the main sites.
- Spotlessly clean room
- Very comfortable bed
- Clean, quality bed linens
- Powerful shower with lots of hot water
- Great a/c
- Super-friendly, helpful staff
- Freshly cooked breakfast included in the price - the Zanzibar pancakes were excellent
- Excellent pick-up and drop-off from/to the ferry port
Beware:
- Good quality food from the roof-top restaurant - priced on the high side
- Don’t sell alcohol, but they are happy for you to drink your own
- Towel quality not the best
Overall fantastic value. Highly recommended for a visit to Zanzibar.
House was very tastefully decorated, food was good. And staff were very pleasant and friendly. A perfect place to stay to explore stone town - most things were walkable while also not feeling right in the
Middle of everything.
No complaints at all
My family and I loved the property. It was a nice calm 3-day stay at Kisiwa and we were able to explore the old part of Stonetown and relax with “hakuna matata”. The staff was very kind and accommodating. They were able to move my aunt, who has reduced mobility, to a ground-floor room and provided breakfast in her room so she wouldn't have to climb several flights of stairs to attend breakfast. Overall great stay, we super recommend and would stay there again.
One of the rooms was initially smelling of humidity but after airing it out it was all good again.
Beautiful hotel in old colonial building. The staff was friendly, the location was perfect for a city trip.
I stayed in the Sulaima Senior Suite & I I really loved it. It was hugeee and regal!!
I love the decor ; very boutique ; very true to the Stonetown culture and tradition and I learnt so much from the photos in the wall. If you’re a fan of history and culture, it’s the right hotel.
The hotel is well kept & really clean & the staff were really friendly & helpful.
Their breakfast options were great too, the meals were tasty! Their vegetable curry is a must-try.
Another plus is that it’s literally within walking distance of most tourist attractions & is still noiseless despite being in the middle of the buzz.
You’ll def get your money’s worth, if you stay here.
The only bummer is that the rooms don’t have an ocean view, but the Forodhani gardens are a 3 minute walk away and you can always watch the sunset/sunrise there.
I stayed just for one night but can definitely recommend the place. It’s elegant and cosy at the same time, and has a beautiful roof terrace for dinner and breakfast. The staff is very friendly and attentive too.
plus the location is great if you want to stroll around the old town.
Comfortable accommodation, very stylish rooms, helpful and friendly staff, ideal for visiting Stone Town!
the breakfast: fruit and yoghurt were nice, not so much the egg and meats. perhaps a more local option would be tastier

our room had no view
stay at this place was wonderful. Upon arrival, you are immediately welcomed with a traditional Zanzibar drink , hibiscus juice, which is very unique and delicious (highly recommended to try!).
The rooms are spectacular, with an authentic atmosphere and beautifully adapted design. The vibe is magical a villa full of history. The reception staff and team are always happy to explain the historical art pieces found throughout the hotel.
As a solo traveler, the staff helped me a lot. They gave great advice about places to go out, money exchange, and more.
Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious and plentiful.
Brenda was a huge help she guided me and supported me with everything.
I highly recommend this hotel — 5 out of 5!
