We LOVED our stay at Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa; the entire experience was a dream! Staff provided the most amazing personalized service, from the moment we booked, to our departure. This wonderful boutique hotel is nestled in a hillside above Uvita, surrounded by rain forest. It was a very calm, soothing, and intimate setting with a capacity of fewer than 30 guests and adults only. We stayed in the Owner’s Loft, a spacious suite with a master bedroom, lounge area, coffee station, work desk and a large veranda with the property’s most spectacular, unobstructed views of the ocean and surrounding jungle. The space felt like an oasis; very modern, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Oxygen is an excellent spot for birding, and wildlife viewing - just upon arrival we had luck and spotted a three-toed sloth at eye level! Dinner at the in-house La Terraza Bistro was a Michelin-star worthy feast for all the senses. The Chef’s Special Ceviche and Special Blackened Tuna were sensational; a firework of flavors! Shout out to our wonderful mixologist and waiter Omar, who went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. Our highest recommendations for Oxygen Jungle Villas in Uvita!!
Not a review guy, but this one was different. "Sorry for the spelling" From the moment we exited the airport, not inside that sucked, we were greeted by Maricio. Let me tell you this guy is a legend among men. He whisked us away, luggage loaded and we were off like a rocket. It is a long drive, but he made it fun and informative. About halfway in we got hungry and he stopped and took us to an outstanding taco stand at Crocodile Bridge.
Apon arrival to the property, crazy steep drive up a mountain, we felt the warm embrace of every person working at the resort. Quick cloths change and straight to dinner. The food is outstanding and the wine cellar and cocktails amazed.
The property itself is stunning. Nestled in the jungle with breathtaking views, every detail feels thoughtfully designed to create a peaceful, luxurious escape. The villas are beautiful, private, clean, and perfectly maintained. The bugs are abundant but mostly friendly and stayed outside. The only sounds you will hear are bugs, birds, and monkeys in the distance.
The spa was incredible—relaxing, serene, and one of the best experiences I’ve had. It was the perfect complement to an already amazing stay.
Now let's talk about the real difference: for 8 incredible days these beautiful Costa Rican people welcomed my wife and I into their family. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank; Feo, Tanya, Aaron, Omar, V, Jason, Hazel, Brian, Louise, and every other wonderful person that made our stay the best vacation ever. I am sorry if I didn't catch your name but thank you as well.
Must do while you are there: private villa dinner, bird watching tour, cocktail class, spa, walk to the waterfalls, just relax!!!!!
The setting is amazing, but the reason we will be back in a year is the people. Thank you again for making my 49th Birthday one I will never forget.
Cheers!!!!
The staff were wonderful. Very helpful and friendly.
This is a relatively smaller hotel compared to others I’ve stayed at, and I thought that was pretty great. It doesn’t feel crowded because there aren’t hundreds of guests, yet not empty as most people hang out by the pool and terrace restaurant near the centre of the hotel. There was an impressive staff to guest ratio, and service felt very personal. We really felt like we were taken care of and hosted during our stay.
We stayed at the suite above the reception. There’s only one of such room as the rest are villas. I quite liked our room for the view of the ocean and we could just step downstairs to dip in the pool and eat.
We booked a short horseback riding activity through the hotel which was quite easy for amateurs. The hotel also helped us arrange a driver to take us to the beautiful whale tail beach nearby.
Spent my 30th birthday here and it was an absolute dream. The spa, hotel, infinity pool, and food were incredible. Staff was friendly and attentive. This place is a must!!!!
We went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. We traveled around but chose to end at Oxygen Jungle Villas and we are SO happy we did. The experience was perfect from start to finish. The staff was amazing to work with beforehand so we already felt like family when we got there! We had the ocean spa villa Romantica #3 which was stunning. They truly think of everything for you. We did a whale/dolphin tour and saw both with babies. We also did a bird watching tour right on sight and it was so amazing to see all the different birds! Our favorite was the Toucans!
Our spa day was the most relaxed we’ve both been in years. There is just something so peaceful about being surrounded by nature during your spa visit.
We enjoyed a floating brunch as the pool as well! The food at Terreza was top notch. Super fresh and flavorful! We enjoyed all of our breakfasts as well as two out of three dinners.
We were so incredibly sad to leave but know we will be visiting again someday soon!
When we first arrived at the Oxygen Jungle I was a bit grumpy as it had taken us 4 hours to arrive there from staying at el romanso in the south, which was a pretty hard act to follow. I am afraid I didn't like the glass walls to the villas and a real negative was the lack of storage - I don't need much space, but there was nowhere to put anything (we were in Costa Rica for 12 days so I didn't have hand luggage!) , unless you wanted to hang everything up on the rail. The bed was extremely comfortable. However, after a few hours I warmed more to Oxygen Jungle. The pool area was very welcoming and the pool was lovely to swim in. I loved the staff in the restaurant, which gives it a big plus - some hotels don't seem to realise is that important. would prefer a bit less volume on the music (unless it is appropriate central/south America themed), but then I am 73. We really enjoyed the food (except on the first day lunch when we had humus & pitta - the humus tasted like it was made with palm oil & the pitta dry) We walked down to the first waterfall, but it was very humid so didn't get to the 2nd. Saw a lot of birds, but not much wildlife, but then we didn't go on any trips. We were there to relax for 2-3 days (we didn't leave the grounds) and it gave us that opportunity. This sounds like a mixed review, but we really did enjoy our stay at Oxygen Jungle.
The gems of this resort are the employees. The setting is right out of a beautiful dream or magazine. Brian the Manager is amazing as his employees are happy and that is the reflection of good/kind/compensating management.
We took the all inclusive vip package/ the staff pamper us like royals/ really nice place and atmosphere/ amazing location in the mountains near beautiful beaches and great national parks/ as well as water falls. Awesome spa, good food, great service and safe private transportation. Since I booked it, the host help me with all the planning and arrangements. They were always there for us. Love it, Fantastic experience!!
We loved the time we spent at Oxygen! Everything down to the food and drinks was perfect but the best part were all the friendly staff!
My wife and I went to oxygen jungle for a massage we got the jJungle day pass and had an incredible time. When we arrived we went on a hike around the property saw a few toucans. Then we went by Jeep to the place where they give massages which was by the waterfall. I had an incredible massage by a massage therapist called Roxy and my wife who normally does not like getting massages as much as myself came away with a big smile .
We then had lunch up by the pool I had a quesadilla she had ceviche both excellent. Next we relaxed by the pool wife a smoothie.
We had a wonderful time can’t wait to go back if I could give a 10 stars I would.😎
We loved this hotel. Although it's secluded, the view and wildlife make up for it. The service is excellent, the staff is super friendly. They even make an effort to remember your name. The food is excellent, and there is lots of variety. My spa experience was amazing and relaxing, worth every minute. The rooms are super comfortable and very clean. We are looking forward to going back.
Muchas Gracias Omar, Jason, Hazel, Valerie and to the entire staff and the owners (Thank You, David for arranging an unforgettable afternoon of whale watching and snorkeling on your 100-foot mahogany ketch Brisa Elegante in Quepos!) for a lovely time. We are grateful to Dorman and Fiorina, for arranging our excursions, and for our knowledgeable naturalists, Alex, birdwatching/ornithologist, and the Adrienne and Michael, jungle night walk.
My husband and I stayed for a week at the Oxygen jungle villas. We enjoyed the New Year celebration with fabulous entertainment by a vibrant local latin band. We had a blast dancing.
The glass villa concept is awesome, waking up surrounded by a botanical garden in a rain forest with the sounds of birds and howler-monkeys. Having an outdoor soaking bath became our nightly ritual. The place is chic, peaceful, immaculately clean, comfortable and thoughtfully cared for. The open plan concept is South Asian bale bengong gazebo with an infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Cano Island.
The service was most friendly, happy and attentive to special requests such as having early breakfasts or packing to go lunch, or excursions requests. The place is ecologically sound and Beautiful on the eyes! The food, a healthy fresh fusion of Costa Rican traditional and continental cuisine, with fresh juices, great coffee, yogurt, tropical fruits and veggies, craft coctails, French and Spanish wine selection,
You are in the jungle, about 2 km above the Uvita and separated from it by an extremely curvy and steep gravel one-lane road and a few narrow bridges over the mountain streams and deep sharp ravines. The 4x4 vehicle for the drive is mandatory and was part of our adventure. You cant let your concentration lapse getting there, that was an adventure in itself. We left resort every day of our week’s stay and it was full of excitement learning to navigate in the dark with upcoming traffic throughout blind turns. There is always an option to have the hotel provide airport and local transportation.
The resort was full but not crowded and it appeared that staff is exceptionally skilled at making each guest feel special and connected to the place. We were exploring away from the resort during the day, but it could be relaxing to soak in the goodness by the pool, take massages, and indulge in surrounding nature and never leave the place for a week. There was a nice library to indulge on, binoculars, games, sun lotions and mosquito (remember you are visiting a rainforest and a real jungle) sprays were readily available by the infinity pool deck.
There are hikes and beautiful waterfalls on the property and nearby as well as short drives to beaches and other activities. My husband commented that he has never been to a place where he could have such a sense of adventure while simultaneously feeling amazingly peaceful and relaxed. I felt it could be a perfect place for a yoga retreat. It is definitely a place that will call us to come back soon. ❤️❤️
Stunningly beautiful setting. Lovely staff. Amazing views. A beautiful haven for relaxation. An amazing private waterfall (two of them in fact) on the property which was lots of fun. The massage platform / tent is amazing with soothing sounds of nature. Muchas Gracias Omar, Jason, Hazel, Valerie and all other staff for a lovely time.
I stayed at Oxygen Jungle Villas for a solo trip to celebrate my birthday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The team did a beautiful birthday setup for me which was the highlight of my stay! The spa was amazing, and the overall ambience—surrounded by lush jungle and stunning views—was peaceful and rejuvenating.
As a solo female traveler, I felt very comfortable and well taken care of. The villas were clean, serene, and perfectly designed for relaxation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, nature-filled escape, and I would love to return again.
This was a perfect boutique hotel. We were in Villa 2 and had an amazing view of both the ocean and the jungle.
Our itinerary was catered for us by Borman and could not have been better. The staff here treated us like family, even providing us with their personal items to aid us with items we had forgotten. The food was outstanding, the spa facilities were unparalleled, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms was amazing but our favorite was the friendliness of each staff member.
My husband and I came here for our honeymoon, two years later… better late than never haha! We had a wonderful time here. All of the staff were so kind and thoughtful. Truly wonderful people. Our ocean view villa was breathtaking. I really appreciate how echo friendly they are. Everywhere was very clean and well kept. Every single meal was absolutely delicious. We don’t drink so they had a large mocktail menu, to choose from; which were all tasty as well. They were really helpful with arranging activities. Our stay felt so personal, if you’re looking for something quiet and relaxing this is the place. The location is amazing, it’s a tucked away paradise. Overall great experience and we will definitely be coming back again.
Super friendly staff, good food, and great views. The pool area/ restaurant was very cool and never too crowded because there are only around 10 villas on the property. The spa experience was amazing too. Can’t wait until we come back someday!
One of the best experiences we’ve ever had! Everything was exceptional—the service, the food, the atmosphere. Everyone was incredibly attentive, especially Tania and Omar. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we felt truly taken care of.
The staff and accommodations at Oxygen were unmatched. Everyone was genuinely kind, friendly, and helpful in a way that felt like neighbors or old friends. Accommodations were beautiful, hehe view was stunning, and the cocktails were delicious! We also opted for the night tour and it was SO worth it. We saw tons of critters and Ozzy, our guide, was the best - knowledgeable, funny, and kind.
