A motel-grade establishment located in a noisy area, lacking amenities and smelling bad.
Cons:

This hotel has absolutely no amenities, and there isn't even a hair dryer in the room. The room smelled musty, and the quality of the bed linens did not match the advertised 3-star rating; in reality, the standard is more like a motel. It is a very noisy place—suitable for those who want to party at Ocean Beach at all night long but the worst possible choice for anyone

Pros:

The location was amazing! This place was a great value for where it’s located. Especially as someone with a physical disability. It is on 1st street, right near the disability beach access ramp. I was so close to the inlet and able to get to everything without wearing myself out walking so much. I cannot overstate how fantastic the staff is here! The front desk staff, especially the day time front desk lady, she made the stay feel so extra special. If she sees this you made the whole stay feel warm and safe! She was so friendly, calming and kind. My 7 year old said she didn’t want to go home cause the front desk lady was so nice. The side view meant we could see both the bay and the ocean, and we were not disturbed by noise from the boardwalk. The room we booked needed some kind of repair so they put us in the same style room one floor lower, and gave us 100$ back. Which we used to have dinner! They moved us up to the room I booked the following morning. The rooms are very spacious. Anytime we needed anything (towels, trash bags, etc) it was provided for us. Our kids really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub, which worked well and was clean. I saw some reviews say there was no hot water, which had me a little nervous, but we had hot water in both rooms without any issues. The TV on the 2nd floor worked better than the 3rd floor, but it still worked, we were able to log into most of our streaming services. The balcony’s are not partitioned but the hotel vibes were immaculate! We made friends with our neighbors who were celebrating 30 years married. We really enjoyed getting to chat with them while the kids rested in front of the TV. We will absolutely stay here again!

Cons:

The beds could have been better. Not the worst, but I’ll probably bring my mattress topper next time. I wish there had been a broom in the room to sweep up sand between housekeeping. I also wish the rooms had clocks. The ice machine was out of ice one of the times I went to use it, and the vending machine kept getting “stuck” so we did buy more snacks then we intended to, to unstick the snacks. The key cards are magnetized and will not work if you put them against your phone. But again the staff was amazing and always provided us a new one when we needed.

What's important to you?
Pros:

If all you care about is an on the boardwalk ocean view place, this a great place. Super location also, but that's where it ends.

Cons:

Everything else, bottom of the line. It's old, and I mean old. There are only maybe 10 parking spaces at the hotel. You have to park 2.5 blocks away in an unattended lot. There is one elevator and it's so old it dings on every floor. One ice machine and it's on the second of 5 floors.

When we went into the room, the view was so amazing that it blinded us from really seeing how out of date and bad the room was. Old scratched up furniture, some type of marks on all the walls, and even a size strip someone peeled off their new clothes stuck on the wall.

The TV is nice and is Fire tv, but if you really want to watch anything, you have to use one of your streaming accounts, or watch old shows on a couple of stations. There isn't even a phone in the room.

The bed was ugly. The bed spread appeared to be from the 90s, but sheets were clean. While the bed made noise when you moved, it slept well.

Again, if all you care about is a great location, on the boardwalk, ocean view with balcony, this is the place. To me it wasn't worth the money. If they would do some room upgrades, I'd stay there every time.

Oh, by the way there are no amenities.

Pros:

I liked that the room had a small kitchen area with the sink, toaster, refrigerator, and microwave. I didn’t recall seeing that when I checked amenities so it was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable, and the view of the ocean was great.

Cons:

The hotel isn’t very modern, there are no USB outlets. The bathroom was so so with old fixtures. There were no washcloths in our room. We were on the second floor right above the shops so it is very noisy and busy at night.
There’s no privacy between the balconies.

For the value, it was a decent place

Your location was great. The bed was awesome and the shower was great.

I can get a little loud being so close to the boardwalk, but I guess that’s what you get
The outside stairwell seemed to be dirty with a lot of food and cigarettes that was not clean the whole time we were there.

Love , Love , Love It’s convenient , clean the staff Val, Miriam , Rob , Britney are wonderful human being .Best customer service as always. Love this place . I will always comes back. The GM Val . On father’s day he deserves a day off but he worked long hours instead. Exceptional management team . Thank you for your hospitality.
