Akhil Beach Resort

Good hotel, rooms a bit small and in need of a freshen up, but not to bad. Could have done with a fridge in the Duluxe A/C room that we stayed in. Great food, no upset stomach all the time we were there ( 10 Nights ) Close to the beach, around a two minute walk away, nice pool, always sun beds available to use.Staff were helpful and good fun, they made our stay at the Akhil Beach really nice.

I had a nice stay here for several nights. The hotel grounds are well maintained and they have a great pool where they provide towels to guests. It's about a 10 minute walk to the cliffs and beaches.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were told that the Deluxe AC room we booked is not available and they offered us a room in a sister property which is still farther from the beach with no TV. When we asked about other rooms in the property they told that they've a cottage available but we've to pay an extra 2000 INR plus taxes. We didn't had a choice and we took that because we were with kids and we don't want a room with no TV option. If it is a good hotel they should've upgraded us to this room because its their fault. There were no towels or any toiletories available when we checked in. Room was clean. It is a 5 min walk from the end of the cliff and there is no view of the beach from the property. Hotel staff doesn't appear to be trained. I will give a 2 star to this facility.

Проживали с друзьями с 05 по 23 ноября. Тихий, уютный отель, расположенный недалеко от пляжа. Хороший бассейн. Правда, первую неделю бассейн был на ремонте, но нам любезно разрешили пользоваться бассейном соседнего отеля Nikhil, расположенного в 100 метрах. Очень отзывчивый, доброжелательный персонал. Слегка медленное обслуживание в ресторане отеля. Номера качественно убирались по первому требованию.
В качестве рекомендаций для улучшения качества проживания в отеле, хотелось бы иметь в номерах холодильник и набор для приготовления чая и кофе.

Pleasant setting - not too far walk from beautiful beach. Restaurant had good food. Staff helpful and friendly. Room a bit small and bathroom very small.

All in all, a wonderful place to stay and unwind yourself. Worth the buck. Best part is the location near to beach (3-4 min walk) and the amazing pool (really nice)! One thing which I wish could be better is the smell in the room, perhaps for not having enough open windows? I will, however, be staying in the same place if I were to visit Varkala again. :)

Loved the hotel pool, rooms clean and quiet, English TV a bonus!

Great hotel for the price, the pool was clean, friendly staff, a nice atmosphere and close to the beach. The rooms are quite basic, and a little dark, but for the price of the hotel they were very good and were also cleaned daily. Overall I would recommend and would stay here again, I think it's a good price for the location and facilities.

We stayed for two nights in early October and enjoyed place. Bungalow was spacy and clean. Few long powercuts appeared on first night but rain was so heavy that i have to approve thise. Poolarea is very big and enjoyable, restaurant was cheap and good. Complimentary continental breakfast with indian dish as a add-on was good. Only minus (which has nothing to do with this hotel) is Varkala which has very minimal to offer for normal/average tourist. My bad though!

A bit pricey for solo travelers. But great choice otherwise.

Great place to stay and nice and close to the beach and cliff side shops. The staff were very friendly and helpful!

We were very much disgusted because we have booked 2 this same rooms with garden view and fan on hotels.com . When we came one of our room was occupied!. Staff divided our family into two different rooms: one OK (clean, with speed fan) and second - the cottage. At the beginning turned off the air conditioning at a cottage because we booked a room without air conditioning! Sorry but we did not order the cottage with very slow fan!... We booked and prepaid 2 rooms and it was hotel's fault . Otherwise the hotel is very nicely designed with beautiful garden and clean pool.

Enjoyed our stay here because the room was convenient, although beds and pillows rather hard, the gardens are delightful and the swimming pool is fabulous. It is a very short walk to the cliff side with great selection of restaurants and shops. The rooms are dark and very outdated with dull brown bedcovers..........it really needs to invest in brighter curtaining and bedcovers. With a little investment this accommodation would look much more inviting. As it stands, the outside facilities compensate for the dowdy interiors.

Bij aankomst werden wij overgeplaatst naar NIKIL Beach resort, een paar honderd meter van Akhil. Wij waren eerst sceptisch, maar het bleek helemaal top! De kamer was prima (geen vijfsterren, maar daar betaal je ook niet voor), de service uitstekend, restaurant vernieuwd en heerlijk eten en het zwembad helemaal goed! Super deal als je naar Varkala gaat (Strand is 2 minuutjes lopen).

Very nice place for all people! Beautiful and very green area with a large and clean swimming pool, good restaurant , friendly and kind staff. I advise anyone who wants quality and not expensive rest! 5 minutes from the beach. Dont bring anything, you will buy it on the beach! Thank you for your service!!!)))

I liked the hotel and would go back again. The rooms are nice, wood panelled with balconies/terrace. We were in a Villa to begin with then a Deluxe room, the only real difference was the size. Both had air conditioning that worked and wasn't noisy and a ceiling fan. Both beds were really uncomfortably hard as were the pillows! No security issues, no safe needed. The pool area is nice and the lad who works that area (cleaning, fetching mattresses and towels) works really hard. The whole place is set in lovely gardens and is very relaxing. The beach and cliff top with all the restaurants are only a 2 minute walk away.There's an Ayuvedic centre on site, I had a massage which was an experience (in a good way), not for the shy!
We had some battles about breakfast as we had paid for full English but are vegetarian so didn't want the bacon or sausages but whenever we asked for something in their place (like tomato or mushroom) they tried to charge us extra.Poached eggs were an impossibility even though they are on the menu, they always arrived looking very fried with solid yolks. The young boy serving was very pleasant and eager to please but never quite got it and would benefit from learning what's on the menu as it's written in English.
We ate at the restaurant a few times. The food was good and reasonably priced, the Veg Sizzler was stunning!
The hotel is good but could be much better if was managed properly. On leaving they tried to charge us for drinks we didn't have.

Wir haben das Hotel aufgrund der guten Bewertung gebucht. Die vorher per Mail vereinbarte Flugenabholung in Trivantrum nachts um 22:30 Uhr hat super funktioniert. Wir waren nur 1 Nacht dort. Obwohl wir Übernachtung mit Frühstück gebucht hatten, mußten wir draufzahlen, da nur 150 Rupi pro Person frei waren. Ist aus meiner Sicht etwas kleinlich.
