Breakfast was not as good as previous stays
Location was great, front desk was really nice and resolved my issues to their best ability.
They gave me a bedroom that did not look clean. I found a pop tart under the bed, hair in my sheets and the bathroom door would get jammed when trying to open it or close it. It got stuck on the floor. I felt it was not nice to pay 200 a night to fight with a door and sleep in dirty room. The next morning, I got breakfast and there was a fly fried with the sausages. The cheese used on the eggs was the cheap kind. The food offered at breakfast was really low quality. I was not expecting made to order or anything but they could improve the quality a bit. We ended up checking out that day after the breakfast incident. The manager was really kind, and gave us a discount on our stay for that day and gave us time to pack our things and check out.
The staff was attentive, rooms were always clean and the breakfast had a great variety of foods.
My friends and I planned a 2-night trip to Port Aransas for spring break (March 9–11). When booking, Hampton Inn showed “no age requirement,” so I called ahead to confirm. I was initially told the check-in age was 18 with no mention of any additional fees. A few days later, another employee told me the policy had changed to 21+, but that we could still check in with a $100 deposit. During the same conversation this deposit became $150, and later I was called back and told it would actually be $200.
When we arrived early (around 10am) hoping to check in closer to the 12pm time I had requested, the front desk staff were dismissive and sarcastic. No one offered to hold our luggage or help us while we waited. The only employee who treated us respectfully was a member of the cleaning staff named Ricky.
When we returned at the official 2pm check-in time, the manager agreed to the $200 deposit but repeatedly emphasized that whether or not I received it back would be entirely “at her discretion.” She also said that even a single noise complaint would result in losing the deposit. After agreeing to this, I was then told the deposit had to be paid in cash only, which had never been mentioned before.
At that point the entire situation felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because the rules and fees kept changing, I chose to cancel my reservation instead of staying. Since I had prepaid, I only received half of my money back. I understand hotels take precautions during spring break, but the inconsistent policies and the way the situation was handled made this experience extremely disappointing.
Near the beach and the room had great space.
The breakfast was mediocre and the shower was clogged and water did not drain properly.

I was grateful for the cleanliness of the hotel, the complimentary coffee/ hot chocolate, great Breakfast, friendly staff, and I was pleased to see they had complimentary toiletries ( toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, shaving cream) in case you forgot yours.
Late check in time, 4pm is pretty late
