Our favorite place to stay in the Douro Valley.
Pros:

This was definitely our favorite accommodation for our whole Portugal trip. The Quinta is absolutely beautiful. We were warmly greeted upon reception with a welcome glass of port and cashews. We had a rental car, and the valet parking was so convenient. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the wine shop and the tour. We ended up buying a case to ship home! The breakfast was amazing. Such a cute breakfast room with so many hot or cold choices. We never missed breakfast! This was our home base and so easy to travel to and from different locations. The grounds are such a great place to sit and have a port after along day. We would most definitely recommend this place to stay in the Douro Valley. The wines and ports are delicious!

Great hotel, but A/C in the room is turned off automatically at every 60 minutes in summertime.

Beautiful hotel and property, great breakfast, wine scene very enjoyable.

Cons:

A major issue with A/C in the room. Temperatures outside were above 35C/ 90F. The air conditioning system in the room had a feature of being turned off at every 60 minutes. Hence, at night we were waking up after it was atomatically turned off. We had to call twice to the reception so they finally took this default system out of the system and we could finally have a good sleep. I don't think there it is necessary to say that when you pay 570 euros per night in a hot summer the least you expect is a porper A/C.

O alojamento no Barril, a privacidade , a Quinta é linda , todos os funcionários são muito simpáticos e prestáveis.
