Very Bad hotel
Pros:

The hotel is dirty, ill managed and very uncomfortable. Plus there are mosquitoes and cockroaches in the toilets. Rooms of literally matchbox size. If you want further proof - IIM Calcutta, which is a stones throw away from the hotel has removed East Palace from its list of recommended hotels for its student. I am a student of IIM Cal and can tell you this with confidence. But all hotels in the area are equally bad. So if you are visiting IIM, better option is to stay in the city and commute daily. It is better value for money.

WORST Palace I ever seen
Pros:

The worst experience for a so called 3STAR rating. Be it the cleanliness, condition of the room, location of hotel, courtesy and support service from hotel - there is nothing where I can give a good rating. The hotel is marked wrongly in google maps which make it worse to locate it as well. Had I not submitted my money in advance, I should have opted to not use the same hotel like many other friends of mine did. Since the money was locked I did not have any other choice other than try to adjust myself. Its clear 'looting' away money from you. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY HERE IN FUTURE.

Worst Hotel ever visited.
Pros:

The story starts when you step in , did a online booking through Hotels.com , first thing heard at the reception after showing the receipt was that " we do not have any confirmation " though the booking was done a day before . waited and got call conferenced with Hotels.com , the man at the reception then came to know that they had rcvd the mail from them already , there were 2 people at the reception to be precise and one of them called himself the manager , being a bengali and myself the same , the guy tried conversing in Hindi deliberately and was hard to make out what he actualy meant . went to check the room , AC room looked like those of little asylum rooms , it was sick and the AC was broken and hanging . Photos on the website are Delusives , no match with the actual one . all were unclean and smelly , one could not afford to even puke in any of those rooms . the room had a TV without remote . no ventilation at all , bathroom was a one hand dimension . went for lunch to the restaurant , not even 1/3 rd of the total menu was available , had to choose within having no choice . tried paying after lunch , they came back saying the card machine is not working , had a troubled and disturbed time after that , which was of utmost hassle , Itsettled at last by paying online for one of their rooms .would like a report done to the consumer forum to close hotels like this as they are of utmost inconvenience to guests .

Don't Bother
Pros:

There is absolutely no reason to stay at this hotel. Except for the unfinished temple just up the road, it is miles from anything and everything in Kolkata. To top it off, this hotel seems to have taken all its profits and invested them in the garden out front rather than some basic amenities like decent mattresses. Have no idea how it got a three-star rating, it would be lucky to get one anywhere else in the world.
