Holiday Inn Express Dijon by IHG

Upon checking in we were welcomed by a charming receptionist. They even took our request as room location into consideration and was done as expected. Room wise excellent bed, well lit bathroom and with all the amenities as expected with Holiday Inn Express. We had a nice and complete breakfast. Free car park is too an added bonus. We are very happy.

We never got to stay even though the hotel kept our non-refundable payment. We only discovered after booking & paying that the on site car park had a height restriction of 1.9m and because we were travelling home from holiday we had a roof box on the car taking us over the limit.

That would have been ok if there was anywhere else to park. Seems all car parks in Dijon have the same 1.9m limit.

I rechecked the listing on hotels.com and saw that it did mention a height restriction but no detail about how high. As Dijon is a popular stop off point for holidaymakers travelling back from the south of France I can’t believe I’m the first to hit this issue, it would be nice to see more explicit height guidelines and alternative parking options highlighted.

I tried reaching out to the hotel for local knowledge of where to park but got radio silence back.

I had no choice but to cancel and lose my money. I contacted the hotel pleading for them to be merciful and refund on this occasion but again nothing in reply.

Both the hotel and hotels.com have ignored me. I still had to pay city taxes when I didn’t stay it would have been nice to see that payment returned at a minimum.

Wonderful hotel despite being next to a very large road did not hear a thing! Staff were helpful (and spoke amazing English). Would definitely stay again.

Adequate for an overnight stop. Rooms could have been cleaner but acceptable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was terrible- hot options weren’t hot and the cold buffet was covered in wasps so we gave it a miss.

Stopover on return from driving holiday.
This is the second time we have stayed here. Perfect for us. Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, excellent value.

Good stop over travelling up from the south of France to Calais. Friendly staff and good sized family room, free parking with no height limit. No restaurant for dinner but there’s a Courtepaille restaurant near entrance where hotel residents get discounts off meal. Bar available which also serves breakfast.

A clean and comfortable hotel conveniently located for an overnight stop while driving south.

Breakfast was terrible. Eggs were not edible. Had it not been included, I would have complained. Room was fine, but had to request pillows for the pull out couch. Communal microwave downstairs was filthy. Could not use. Staff pleasant.

The breakfast was not as good as we would have expected, the sausage was awful, the egg was cold and the toast took ages.

The double bed was comfortable but there was a stain on the pillow case. The pull out bed for the children was uncomfortable and also had a stain on the pillow case.

A fantastic and superb stay in Dijon, France. The hotel was in a very good location with friendly, helpful and very approachable members of staff. We got out and about within hours of arrival.

Excellent hôtel. Staff très serviable . La personne a l’accueil nous a recommandé de bons endroits pour découvrir la ville. Restaurant à côté de l’hôtel avec discount . Très comfortable et calme. Très bon petit déjeuner avec option gluten free. On reviendra si on reprend la même route .

Nice fairly new hotel. A ways from downtown Dijon but we were able to get there via transit. Pretty good breakfast

Best reception staff I've met for a long time. Very easy and safe park with no height limit and loads of space. Receptionist was lovely and very kind. Breakfast was perfect and again lovely staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was 60 seconds walk with a discount. Also next to a nice fish restaurant and a fast food. Will definitely return. Monty says thank you

Gated securitised parking lot with video surveillance. Great, when you have a car packed with luggage.

Good place to stop off. Kids loved the pool.

Ideal comfortable overnight stay on our way home from South of France. Rooms were clean and comfortable. This was our second stay here.
Breakfast was quite limited, with no real gluten free options for our daughter.
