Ik heb als vroegere bewoner van Houthalen weer even kunnen genieten bij mijn Belgische vrienden.
Pros:

Ruimschoots ontbijt en prettige bediening. Een goed bed en voldoende kastruimte. Keurige doucheruimte en voldoende handdoeken.

Cons:

Dat er veel verkeer langs rijd en het moeilijk maakt om je in te voegen, maar daar kan het hotel niets aan veranderen.

Relaxing, surprising stay in small town - with great meals.

Beautiful setting despite the busy road running in front of the hotel; and the restaurant

Location along road, immediate vicinity not charming. But location was perfect for me for a nearby business meeting.

noise from the road in front of the hotel was heavy as we had a beautiful room at the front of the hotel, we could not open the windows due to that noise.

I was completely disappointed

There was a parking next to the hotel

Cons:

It was very loud from the street noise. The windows offered insufficient soundproofing. I hardly slept at all.
The quickest thing the reception lady did was to demand payment of the bill with my credit card. I was charged 124 euros. Unfortunately, I only noticed later that I had a confirmation from Booking.com for 111.95 euros. (my mistake, still very bad of the hotel). At check out, no one was there. Despite ringing several times, someone only came after about 15 minutes.
There were other little things that I don't want to go into further.

Pros:

Fantastic hotel and great staff. Little disappointing that the restaurant was fully booked when I arrived and I was not informed prior to this. Staff helped me to organise alternative food. Great hotel.
