Great facilities, friendly desk staff. Recommend getting spa services elsewhere.
Pros:

Room was very nice, bed comfortable, shower with hot water. Grounds were relaxing, with a nicked little lawn area by restaurant. Staff was accommodating for an early check in.

Cons:

I got a deep tissue massage at their spa, Sowa. Staff did not moderate pressure despite repeated requests to have a lighter touch. It was as though they had only one setting and could not adjust to what client wanted. Spa staff needs better training. I chose to go to another spa nearby the next day and I had a better experience.

Very recommended!
Pros:

I had a wonderful stay at Shambaling Hotel. The location is excellent, close to the main attractions while still offering a peaceful setting. The staff were exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help with any request. Breakfast had a good variety of options each morning. Overall, a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, and I would gladly return.

Pros:

They have a yoga room with mats, blocks & straps.
Breakfast was enjoyable & we ate dinner there twice.

A beautiful oasis of calm with fantastic and friendly staff. Great location - 10 min walk to the main Boudhanath stupa with several excellent restaurants within 5 min walk

Pros:

Остались в полном восторге от Shambaling Hotel 🤍 Это именно то место, куда хочется возвращаться. Невероятно уютные номера, очень красивая и спокойная атмосфера, а качество косметики в ванной приятно удивило — шампунь и мыло действительно очень хорошие, что редко встретишь даже в дорогих отелях.
Но самое главное — персонал. Настолько внимательных, заботливых и отзывчивых людей я давно не встречала. Был момент, когда ночью лаяла собака и нам было некомфортно спать. Мы даже ничего особо не просили, но сотрудники отеля моментально отреагировали и бесплатно переселили нас в номер классом выше. Честно, ощущение было, будто персонал читает мысли 😄
Отдельно хочу отметить завтраки — всё очень вкусно, свежо и с душой. Вообще сервис здесь на каком-то невероятно тёплом человеческом уровне. Огромная благодарность всей команде Shambaling за такую заботу и отношение к гостям

5/5 – Would absolutely stay again.

The hotel exceeded expectations on every level. The location is excellent – convenient, well-connected, and just genuinely pleasant to be in. The service was outstanding: the staff handled everything exactly right, with attention to detail, professionalism, and a level of care that’s rare.

The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and clearly run with thought and intention. Everything feels considered rather than random. It delivers exactly what you want – comfort, reliability, and quality.

It’s fully worth the price, no question. Easy recommendation.

I didn't like the significant mark up on items such as water and beer, which were over priced compared to other similar hotels and way over priced compared to retail value.

Pros:

Shambaling Boutique Hotel is the BEST hotel near Boudanath Stupa!!! The rooms and grounds are beautiful, the price is quite reasonable and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves excellent cuisine and the spa provides luxury services. I highly recommend Shambaling Hotel for the best experience!

Cons:

Everything is wonderful at Shambaling Boutique Hotel. I travel to Nepal two times a year and always stay here when I arrive and before I depart.

Lieblingshotel in Kathmandu
Pros:

Das Frühstücksbüffet wurde noch durch einen Ei Service erweitert. Ein sehr freundlicher Mitarbeiter brät Omeletts, oder Rührei, je nach Gusto. Ich liebe Bodhanath und der abendliche oder Morgenspaziergang zum Stupa gehört für mich zu jedem Kathmandu Aufenthalt dazu. Das Hotel ist eine Oase der Ruhe, man kann sich von anstrengenden Besichtigungen in schlechter Luft hier wunderbar erholen. Nach einem anstrengenden Trek lockt das Spa mit entspannenden Massagen.

Pros:

Het is een heerlijk hotel, een oase van rust bij de drukke straatjes en vlakbij de Stupa. Het personeel is gastvrij, erg vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. De kamers zijn netjes en schoon. Het ontbijt is heel goed, net als het diner.

Cons:

Er is mij niets tegen gevallen.

Una perla nascosta e silenziosa
Pros:

Bellissimo hotel, una perla nascosta, vicino al tempio di Budda, molto silenzioso (per le camere al piano terra che danno sul giardino interno). Ottimo ristorante. Personale sorridente, disponibile e molto efficiente. Inoltre molto vicino al centro buddista più importante (Tempio di Budda). Abbiamo amato ogni istante di questo soggiorno

Cons:

Solo la prima notte abbiamo sentito cani abbaiare per lungo tempo. Si sentono gli aerei dall’ aeroporto
