Run down property
Pros:

Large room, comfortable bed. Allows dogs.

Cons:

Grounds outside weedy, run down building. Parking lot access very poor asphalt. Public areas need a good cleaning and update. Shower was missing shower head!

Put us in a room that smelled like garbage and the fridge was full of old food. Asked for a new room and it was better. Hallway floors needed vacuuming.

Dirty but tolerable. Keep driving if you can.
Pros:

Nice interstate location. Italian restaurant next door with Love’s across the street. Would be considered “middle of nowhere” so nice to have an option to sleep here.

Cons:

Pathetically unclean. Common areas haven’t been swept or mopped in weeks (at least). Elevator also. Hallways are vacuumed but apparently the last inch by edges and corners are impossible for this staff. No one knows how to use a crevice tool? Or wipe down baseboards? The room itself was better but hardly professional standards. Tolerable. Sign at desk area says that manager has a certificate in hospitality. No actual name of what that certificate is, but he’s clearly proud of it. Yet it appears that a class and a test doesn’t appreciably change someone’s own view on cleanliness. To be clear, it wasn’t disgusting or anything, just quite neglected.

Our door did not lock, front desk was rude about it. Said she had no other room to put us in. Maintenance came and was unable to fix the door. He was able to secure it so no one could come into our room. Hot tub in our room took forever to fill up. The ceiling looked like it was going to fall in..

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Indoor pool and hot tub awesome. Breakfast was substantial (eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy etc), coffee juice and tea choices. Parking was free and plentiful (we are hauling a trailer).

Cons:

The direction link for the property address from my confirmation email took us to 2710 north east highway 66 in Selvo. NOT ELK CITY I manually entered the address from booking.com and 2710 highway 66 elk city landed us in a Walls department store parking lot. Called the hotel.
