We really enjoyed everything about our stay.
Pros:

Character building . Great choice of evening meals. Really comfortable bed. Friendly, helpful staff.

Cons:

Not a dislike but there are lots of steps because it is such an old building.

Wonderful care and customer service at the White Hart
Pros:

I am just preparing to check out after a 2 night stay and I wantednto take the time to give the team here a huge bug up for their excellent care, attention and customer service during my stay. In particular to Andrew who was front of house and the lovely ladybwho looked after us at breakfast, their level of service was excellent.
Its been a miserable week of heavy rain and high winds, but this team has been a beacon in what otherwise would have been a gloomy time. The accommodation is good and the breakfasts on offer were incredible value for money. The chef in the evenings produced some wonderful salads.
It can't be easy for a winter team to keep things buzzy and professional when there aren't many guests and visitors around....and the weather is awful, but these guys were F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S! Thankyou.

gutes Rundumpacket
Pros:

Für einen Besuch in St. Austell oder Umgebung ist das Hotel ideal. Man bekommt ein sehr gutes Frühstück und hat ein gute Restaurant inkl. Pub direkt im Haus.

Cons:

Wir hatte ein Zimmer zur Straßenseite, weshalb es etwas laut war.

Staff and hotel were amazing
Pros:

Couldn't fault anything, staff so nice, clean and food greeat
Breakfast lots of voice and freshly cooked.

Cons:

Bathroom door wouldn't stay shut but it was minor and we propped open with towel

We walked in the door to check in, to be greeted by a young girl calling out ' you right' at us, this set the tone for the entire stay
Our room was located outside the hotel in a dirty laneway that felt unsafe the whole time
The room was small, but the bathroom was huge, so sitting in the room was unpleasant and it smelt like damp
The room also had a window to the footpath and was right next to the main road, so all we could hear was cars and the people walking right past our window
We had a drink in the bar, and were going to stay for dinner, except the 2 rambling local drunks at the bar talking absolute garbage at the top of the voices meant everyone in the bar and restaurant could hear. So we left and found somewhere nicer to eat
Breakfast was terrible and awkward, from the older lady telling everyone that breakfast would run easier if we all turned up at the assigned times. This would be fine if the staff had actually ever asked us to choose a time, but that was never asked. So how is that our issue and why do the guests need to be casually told off for something that was actually the issue of the hotel staff not dong their job
All of the breakfast was delivered to the table, so you couldn't get a 2nd coffee or juice or anything without asking, and when you did it was slow and an inconvenience, and the hotel food was small and very average. The man who works here also makes the atmosphere awkward and uncomfortable, constantly watching you, with minimal pleasant personable skills and huffing about like all the guests were an inconvenience. It was very clear he does not like his job
This hotel makes the top of the list for the worst hotels in the world we have stayed at, and it was a massive disappointment

Sehr freundliches Personal, gutes Essen, fürs Zimmer aber Abwertung beim Preis-Leistungsverhältnis
Pros:

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das Frühstück und das Essen im Restaurant waren sehr gut. Der Zimmerpreis ist allerdings hoch. Das White Hart ist die einzig gute Option vor Ort und scheint das nutzen zu können.

Cons:

Das Zimmer war sauber. Das Bad hätte allerdings eine gründliche Reinigung vertragen können. Die Toilette und die Badewanne waren sauber, aber der Rest, wie z.B. der Heizkörper/Handtuchhalter und die Kacheln waren verstaubt oder fleckig und die Armaturen alt. Die Strasse war laut, d.h. schlafen bei offenem Fenster nicht möglich.
