Shuzenji Onsen Katsuragawa

I stayed at Shuzenji Onsen Katsuragawa for one night during my motorcycle tour of Japan, and it was a lovely opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese onsen hotel. The location is very convenient for exploring the beautiful Izu Peninsula, and Shuzenji itself is a charming town with a peaceful atmosphere, traditional streets and lovely places to walk around. One of the highlights of the hotel is its selection of private onsen baths, which are a great way to relax after a long day of riding. Being able to enjoy an onsen in privacy, at my own pace, was a real plus. I chose the half-board package, with both dinner and breakfast served buffet-style. It's a convenient option, especially after a long day on the road, as you can enjoy your meals at the hotel without having to go out again. The buffet arrangement also gives you the opportunity to try a variety of Japanese dishes. The hotel has a traditional Japanese feel, although it is quite a large property rather than an intimate ryokan. It offers a nice balance between Japanese hospitality and the convenience of a modern hotel.

The premises, a huge amount of entertaiment spaces, including the separate-by-sex public onsen and the smaller private ones free of charge. Library, games room, karaoke room (payable), ping-pong room... Amazing amount of choice.

We loved everything about the hotel. It had a lovely blend of hotel and ryoken which can be enjoyed by locals and foreigners alike. Breakfast buffet was not perfect for us as a vegan and a vegetarian, but we managed to get a few staple items each day. The private onsens were great for us as we both have tattoos and couldn't use the public baths. Highly recommend 2 nights to enjoy the hotel and the area.

We loved everything about our time at Shuzenji Onsen Katsuragawa! The whole experience was wonderful; from the rooms to the food (which was a great way to introduce our kids to different Japanese cuisine whilst also having some familiar options to fall back on), to the beautiful yukatas and kids areas, to the relaxing onsens. Shuzenji was beautiful too, and a lovely place to wander around. Highly recommend.

El personal es muy amable y te explica todo antes de realizar el check-in en cuestión de sus reglas, que son básicas para la convivencia en cualquier lugar. El hotel cubre todas tus necesidades para que no haya necesidad de salir, eso sí, lo más representativo de Shuzenji queda muy cerca a pie.
Además los onsen privados están muy limpios y excelentes de temperatura, un buen lugar para descansar de la ciudad o disfrutar de aguas termales 100% japonesas.

La ubicación estaba muy bien, cerca de la estación de Shuzenji.
La comida era muy buena!
El desayuno y la cena tenían mucha variedad de platillos y de muy buen sabor.
Las habitaciones eran de buen tamaño y el hotel tenía muchas áreas para descansar y reunirse con otros huéspedes.
Helados gratis.
En general bien!

他のホテルに比べ宿泊費が安く、施設が充実している。子供連れの家族での宿泊にはとても良いホテルだと思う。

The staff was incredibly helpful. We got to have a very immersive Japanese experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. The private tubs are phenomenal and easily accessible. Breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious and offered a nice variety of options.

Lovely location in beautiful Shuzenji. Room had all we needed and we enjoyed the private onsen.
