I accidentally booked this hotel - won’t make that mistake again

My room was upgraded and the room was nice.

Cons:

I accidentally booked this hotel and needed to change the date of my stay. I reached out to them about the possibility of changing my date but never heard anything from them. Because they did not respond, and not lose my money, I figured I’d do a “staycation” (I live in New Orleans, about 40 miles from this hotel).

The front desk person wasn’t the friendliest and was almost rude, so my experience began morning the most positive light. I checked in and went to my room.

When I opened the door, someone else was in there! Thank God they were in the bathroom and didn’t hear me walking in! I noticed their clothes on the floor and immediately left the room but that could have gone very differently. The desk clerk did “upgrade” my room and was apologetic.

Great breakfast. Room clean and comfortable, appreciated the clean towel service. Convenient location (we were visiting family). The lighting in the bathroom was very good, the mirror never steamed up. However, the lighting also revealed minor facial issues that now have me concerned about how I've looked ...

Cons:

The facility (not the room) had a sort of mildewy odor. Not off-putting, and we understand the climate (we are from Houston).

I madee the reservation on Friday for the weekend, two hours after my reservation, I got an additional email stating that my reservation could not be confirmed, and I would be refunded. I was charged twice for the trip and refunded once. I need to be refunded for the other charge!

We were there for a wedding and it offered a nice reprieve from the festivities.
