Poor hygiene and disappointing customer service

Very disappointing experience. Despite booking breakfast through Booking.com, the hotel insisted on charging extra for my daughter's breakfast. After two frustrating discussions with the receptionist and manager, I requested a breakfast refund so we could eat elsewhere. Suddenly, they decided not to "make a fuss over a child's breakfast" and would sort it out with Booking.com. Why make it such an issue in the first place?

Hygiene was another concern. Twice, I was given floor towels instead of face towels. Apparently, proper face towels were out of stock. The mattress toppers were loosely covered with sheets that constantly slipped off, exposing frankly disgusting surfaces underneath. The exposed edges of the blankets were equally unpleasant.

The room was reasonably clean, but far from spotless, and the key cards repeatedly stopped working.

Basic hygiene and decent customer service should not be too much to ask, even at a budget hotel. I certainly wouldn't stay here again.

Disappointing experience – poor hygiene and unprofessional customer service

Unfortunately, my stay at ibis Parque das Nações was disappointing, mainly due to poor customer service, questionable hygiene standards, and several recurring issues.

The breakfast situation was particularly frustrating. I booked a stay through Booking.com with breakfast included, yet the hotel insisted on charging extra for my daughter's breakfast. Even after showing my booking confirmation, the receptionist claimed it was Booking.com's problem. I then had to discuss the same issue with the manager, without any satisfactory resolution.

After two unpleasant conversations, I had simply had enough. I asked for a refund for my breakfast, as I would rather eat elsewhere than deal with this kind of treatment. Suddenly, the attitude changed: "We're not going to make a fuss over a child's breakfast. We'll sort it out with Booking.com."

Exactly. So why put a guest through two unnecessary confrontations in the first place? What should have been a simple matter turned into an unnecessarily frustrating experience.

The hygiene standards were equally concerning. On two separate occasions, I was given floor towels instead of proper face towels. When I raised the issue for the second time, I was told that face towels were simply out of stock. I was then handed a regular towel instead. This is not an acceptable solution, especially when it comes to basic hygiene.

The bedding was another unpleasant surprise. The mattress toppers are loosely wrapped in sheets that repeatedly come off during the night, exposing what is underneath. And frankly, what is underneath is disgusting. The exposed edges of the blankets sticking out of their covers were equally unpleasant. These are things guests should never have to see, let alone sleep on.

The room itself was reasonably clean, although certainly not spotless.

El precio un poco alto para la habitación

Había que activar las tarjeta para abrir la habitación todos los días.
Y no me gustó la atención de la recepción de una de ellas,hablabas con ella y no entendía ni español ni inglés y además su trato era despota.
Sin embargo la housekeeping muy amable igual que en la cocina.

Staff were nice. Not exceptionally friendly. Room was adequate, but a bit tight. Room served our purpose with a one night stay before going to the airport.

Quality of service left a lot to be desired.
