It’s okay I guess because the room rates was cheap…
Pros:

Near the town centre and the station…

Cons:

On our last night, i was about to take a shower before bed, there was no hot water… Also the air cooling system was leaking as well…

Then in my boys room, was so warm, they have to open the window… And it’s lucky that we brought some mini fans with us and so they used them during the night just to get a good sleep…

Renovations but not necessarily upgrades
Pros:

I stayed on the second floor which has recently been renovated. The upgraded rooms are really delightful. With a full en-suite bathroom rather than just a shower in the corner of the standard room and toilet in a cupboard, way more plug and socket options, a desk and a tv that is big enough to see when watching from bed that has a lot of smart features like Netflix and YouTube. For a budget price the upgraded rooms are very good. The staff as always are 10/10 for hospitality and helpfulness!

Cons:

The air conditioning units in the new rooms are very cheap. They struggle with condensation something rotten. So much so that my room flooded with condensation run off. It went from a slow drip, drip onto the floor to running down the walls like a waterfall and pooling across the room and under the door in less than 20 minuets. It was 30+ degrees so very hot but still the run off was diabolical. I had to have the tray drained twice and then lay down 8 towels beneath the conditioning unit to catch the run off during the night. 8 towels was not enough and I eventually had to turn it off completely.

Pros:

When we arrived, it was 34 degrees outside, the room was cool, the air conditioner was working. We were extremely happy. The room was small, but it was perfectly clean, the bed was wonderful, the towels were snow-white. Very comfortable.

Cons:

There was no refrigerator in the room, nor a closet for storing things.

Okay, would stay again but need air conditioning fixing.
Pros:

The location is great, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the shower and television worked.

Cons:

There was no air conditioning and it was 30°C and there was very loud building works going on from around 8am right next to the hotel on a Sunday.

Never staying here again sort ur air con out and just offer a Gregs run instead of ur shit breakfast
Pros:

There was one SE Asian man on the desk who was incredibly helpful and gracious, as well as that one white fella who did the breakfast. Both very chipper and attentive. Fresh towels and bedding with daily clean was a nice touch.

Cons:

Air con couldn’t be changed. We’re in a heatwave and the only setting I could essentially do was hot air. Could barely sleep. Had to change rooms due to leaking air con. White woman on the desk told me when I originally asked to switch rooms that there were no rooms available (lie). I was jet lagged and wanted to change rooms but she told me all they could do was fix the air con. I had been awoken by the dripping in the first place. Se Asian man came to fix it, he was lovely. It took forever but not his fault, he then said if it drips again come and tell him and I could change rooms. Of course it happened again, I had to get up again as I was awoken for the second time by the dripping. Finally a very chipper lad on the desk granted me a room change (thank god) only this air con was warmer than before. Had an awful time. Could barely stand to be in the room at all. Breakfast was absolute dog shite for £9 a night. I would have rather gone to the Greggs down the road had I known how crap it would be. Vile coffee, tiny pastries, stale cornflakes. Lift was constantly breaking during my trip. One of them I genuinely thought was gonna crash at one point how wobbly and creaky it was. Hallways smelled of pee. Just overall bad vibe. Will not be staying here again. Give the lads a raise though they were ace. Only thing that made the stay bearable!
