It’s ok
Staff were very friendly and spoke English. It’s located right in the middle of a busy area with lots of restaurants and shops. Inside is very quiet, you would never know that the street below was busy until you got outside. The interior areas are outdated and starting to look run down. The staff did a great job keeping all the common areas clean and tidy. If you want to relax at the hostel in late morning into the afternoon, or wake up late, it’ll be hard to go in/out of the cabins while the cleaning crew are changing the bedding in all the cabins. Especially when several guests checkout on the same day. The bathroom was always stocked with toiletries. The elevator does not go to 2F, the stairs are steep, about 4 flights, from 1F to 2F but not as steep from 3F. There was plenty of space for luggage storage on 3F and a small space in the cabin area in 2F for some luggage but best to only book 2F if you’re travelling light. Lockers are only big enough for a backpack that could fit under an airplane seat. There was no a/c in the 2F cabin area, only in the common area. There was a floor fan blowing at the end of the hallway that helped a bit but the cabin got really hot when you closed the curtain. Location is a few minute walk to either Ueno or Okachimachi train stations.
Overall very nice need sone improvements
It was great all around.
Nice staff!
Very convenient.
Interesting property. It’s older and has a gritty and down and out vibe to it. Stains on the carpet, and full of interesting characters.
Staff is friendly and nice, especially all the cleaning ladies.
The big issue, is that they have a smoking room, and the smoke smell wafts out into the kitchen, and sleeping areas.
The price is right, but I wouldn’t recommend.
Men preferred hostel with a sauna and public bath. Right in Ameyoko/Ueno. The bath gets very crowded. Great area right by rail and tons of shopping and restaurants. Very cheap area of Tokyo
Good staff
I would go back again and again. Fyi, there were some musty smells in certain spaces, which can be rough on people with allergies like me. Front desk helped me out; I upgraded for $3 and all is well. Such a relaxing stay. Arregato to Ueno.
My first capsule experience.
Ive been to a couple of capsule hotels in JP. This is by far the best, its centrally located in UENO, easy to get to Haneda or Narita airport. The area is also nice with the park and other attractions nearby, Asakusa is two stops away. Also the capsule sizes are great, its not too low to the floor which saves your knees and back and its a bit bigger than the standard capsule so it doesn't feel like you're in a coffin. It also smells good, and doesnt smell like feet like the other capsule hostels. So it says a lot about their level of clean. I like to stay in the 2ndFloor which is their premium floor with a dedicated common area. Unfortunately sometimes the "help" takes some of the spots in the morning as they start their work, which is unfortunate. But the sento area is great and have a sauna show which is very uniquely Japanese. Id stay again!
Its a very good place
In the end of the day this is a hostel, I highly
Keep in mind to bring a mini fan for ventilation, especially during summer.
During my visit I didn't need it.
They provide PJs, two small towels, blades, soap, shampoo and a tooth brush.
The location is strategic, nearby station, restaurants and the area is lively.
The onsen is public, so if you feel shy just cover your tool with a towel.
Good location. Good staff. Clean bathrooms, spacious capsules. I stayed in the larger capsule which only cost me a few dollars more and it was definitely worth it.
Great spot! Clean and organized, comfortable sleeping pods, great location in Ameyoko Market.
Avoid 2nd floor - no elevator service and door code
Located conveniently near Okachimachi and Ueno station making it very accessible to various train lines. Great place to stay as a solo traveller. The hotel does have storage for large suitcases and provides a locker, for each capsule, to store smaller bags like carry-ons. Comfortable and spacious capsules, and well/regularly maintained facilities. Initially planned to stay for 3 nights, but ended up extending another 3 as it was quite comfortable and provided great value for the money.
It's all good👍
Please change the locker with larger size for keeping personal items.
I had a fantastic stay here. It has everything I needed especially for my first time in Japan including the onsen which I really need. I am definitely gonna come back again whenever I am staying in Ueno.
I have stayed here before. As always it is a nice place to stay & very convenient location.
