Not being allowed access to the quiet and non crowded Writers Bar just because we had our 18mnth old baby along .
As in what does the hotel expect we do? Leave baby in the room?

Pros:

I have stayed at The Savoy for my birthday for 2 nights couple weeks ago with my family and we had absolutely the best experience. The way this property has managed to honor its 1902 roots while providing you the modern day luxury is what makes this an unique experience. The property is a beautiful span covering various courtyards and we had our rooms in the central court. The staff will go over and above to make you feel comfortable and feel special. They were very kind enough to even put up a surprise birthday cake in our room.
We had the absolute lovely dinner experience at their in house restaurant- The royal afghan and you can get the view of the mountains while enjoying your meal in cozy heated outdoor seating setup.
The evening bonfire would want you not to leave and go anywhere outside . To be honest, it doesn't matter how long your duration of stay was , you will end up wanting to stay one more day. This place is the perfect answer to your quest for peace and slowing down. And for people who love taking pictures ( like me ) , every corner of this beautiful property is a perfect spot for gram worthy pictures.

Our stay at ITC Savoy Mussoorie was exceptional in every way. It was arranged to celebrate my mother’s birthday so as to make it a memorable one and the Savoy hotel was instrumental in making it so.

The hotel is set amongst graceful trees, perched atop the hills of Mussoorie with gorgeous mountain views. Its impressive architecture exudes old world charm with reminders of Savoy’s hallowed past at every corner. Arriving here, we felt like we had stepped into a beautiful and tranquil retreat. Adding to the beauty of the landscape was the exceptional service of the staff that runs this gem of a place. Stepping onto the premises, we were received by Ms. Sonia who personally led us to our rooms and made us feel very welcome. To our delight, the room was especially done up for my mom’s birthday with the cherry on the cake being a warm note from Mr. Gautam Valli, the General Manager. Throughout our stay, the staff impressed us with their warmth, courtesy and attention to detail.

At par with the services of the hotel, was the care we received at the restaurant. The restaurant staff, especially Mr. Sachin and Mr. Vishal, was endlessly polite, attentive, skillful and elevated our dining experience. The food prepared by the chef Mr. Vipin was delectable and sublime with the pastry items being a highlight. The crowning glory was the special send off that the staff, including Ms. Shrishti, gave us on the eve of our departure.

Needless to say, ITC Savoy carries forward every bit of its famed legacy and we would be delighted to revisit it in the future.
